  1. Nice global representation in the sponsors as well then... Wait a minute... that explains the weird posts by some people, it's all code language...
  2. Nice, simple, but detailed enough (seems to be your trademark). I also like the scale of the building, kind of 'Town-plan-ish' scale, and they could also be left open-backed. (edit: woohoo, 300 posts)
  3. "Active topics" is my main way of navigation on Eurobricks and always in the same place on the page I click it dozens of times a day
  4. Here and even...
  5. Haven't the 'simple' chess sets (so not talking about the BIG castle chess set) always been €50/$50?
  6. I like the way you have AFOL-ed the recent police station and added another wing to it.
  7. Just curious: who is paying for the hosting or do the small ads cover that (or is that not publicly disclosed, which I would understand too)? But the main contribution to Eurobricks of course comes from a committed staff.
  8. I really like how the MMV style houses blend in (now I'm considering buying MMV again ). The docks and wall are nice too. The tiling gives the top of the fort a really nice finish.
  9. I never realized the classic container ships were entirely brick-built! Furthermore, I have to agree on the harbor 'bases': the classic ones are waaay better.
  10. I wouldn't have noticed . Seriously: it's a very nice creation, did you do an interior for it?
  11. If you want to highlight the discussion of the index, I think it's better to link to the discussion thread in the opening post of the index itself (to avoid ending up with a long list of pinned topics). But thanks for your commitment to keeping the index alive, Hinckley
  12. Probably an issue with the drivers for the sound card (that the game handles by itself/differently from the operating system), but I can't offer any specific help, besides maybe trying to reinstall your sound card driver (from a CD or try to find them online).
  13. I will not sponsor TLG for releasing inferior quality... so I'll stay away from this. Besides the shakos being on the wrong figures, there's also the lack of epaulets on the soldiers' side. The inclusion of daggers (and chicken legs ) is nice, I hope we'll see those in the 2010 Pirates line more often. Edit: anyone notice the bad photoshopping on the left soldiers' rook?
  14. My thoughts exactly. The classic town versions just look cute... but the new set's scale is more realistic. I only own the new version (got it for €38 on clearance). I just can't decide on a vote... TLG does that (Pirates 1989 vs 2009)
  15. To use my self-invented abbreviation again: LMMO at those two vids. Cycling doesn't look stupid to Dutchmen though, we've had prime ministers riding their bikes to parliament on a daily basis.
  16. I think we concluded earlier that EB isn't a LUG as TLG defines it, since a LUG has to host/attend shows according to the LUGBULK criteria.
  17. Sorry I just have to comment on this: Laughing My Megabloks Of (I propose a new Eurobricks abbreviation: LMMA ). The resemblance in poses makes it so funny! Boris Johnson seems like a cool guy, judging from the one time I saw him as a guest on Top Gear. I've also had some 'whaaat?' moments looking at the pictures of some of the young users here. But I'm really happy that Eurobricks seems to attracts many 'mature' teenagers. The real kids who join from time to time usually get banned within a day or two thanks to our very active staff.
  18. This is a 'thank you'-thread? I just assume it is. I'm sure EB produces the best reviews in the whole AFOL community and the Reviewers Academy ensures that all reviews here continue to be of such a high level. So, a big THANK YOU to all people who participate in the Reviewers Academy! Keep up the good work.
  19. So far: two old red and two old brown (all shooting )
  20. ... and have a train connect the two towns, so the classic smileys can go look at the freaks in modern town.
  21. Agreed on the fish shack
  22. I can't decide, so I won't vote this time. The green ones certainly look much more colorful, but the new dark bley ones are much more realistic for urban scenes. No doubt it's green for country-sides. Given all the variation we've had so far, I would certainly like TLG to stick with the current ones no and expand on them with specialized, compatible base plates like in the 80s and 90s.
  23. Are you going to make a ranking of most suggested ideas? Are you going to describe a general direction of where AFOLs would like the Pirates line to go or are you going to pass on all suggestions in detail?
  24. Poor guys, stuck on their island... Seriously, I've never experienced any slowness at all on Eurobricks, but I'm much closer to the server location. I wonder whether the connections from Europe to Australia are as 'wide' as they are to the US.
  25. Water looks great! The buildings look edible but contain some nice architectural designs...
