    City 2010

I completely agree with all these points. Let's at least wait for the pictures (I bet the first ones will be blurry again, removed from EB, everyone searching for prelims, commenting on blurry prelims, etc.) And the most interesting (AFOL targeted) sets will probably be S@H exclusives anyway. (edit: 200 posts, yippie! )
  2. That's a great drawing of Governor Broadside, never seen it before...
  3. Great! When I saw it on Brickshelf, I already thought: this looks familiar...
  4. Formerly pirate, currently hired by Governor Broadside's Bluecoats. Meet my new sigfig: Richard ('Rick') Joseph Rose, former apprentice to Captain Redbeard aboard the Black Seas Barracuda. After the mutiny led by Rose, the BSB was added to the Bluecoat fleet. Rose now serves as a direct adviser to Governor Broadside and gets assigned to different regiments on an as-needed basis. So, if you feel you need Rose's services for your regiment, whether on land or at sea, please contact the governor's secretary... If you want to include my sigfig in your MOCs, please do (note that the tricorn is brown)!
  5. Eeek... that's hefty. I like your port, indeed my only suggestion would be to get rid of the checkered pattern... I like how you've integrated Sabre Island.
  6. Congratulations, I'm sure you'll do great
  7. Very nice work! I agree with comments made here about the color and raising the cabin and fenders.
  8. Thanks for putting this together ImperialScouts. I really enjoyed reading it and looking at that whole regiment of Bluecoats marching.

    W.I.P.s

Nice work, I like the back-view of the Bluecoat ship. I don't really like the look of those two 'door-halves'. Perhaps if you let the rotate the other way around it looks better. Or make one door out of it and place it off-centre to one side and put a window next to it. Or center it and put some decoration on both sides.
  10. LOL, that's a funny scene. I agree with the Armendariz suggestion
  11. All depends on the application you're using I guess, but I'm no graphics expert, so I may not be the best person to ask. There should be a setting to resize the image to a certain size (size either in pixels - in which case you have to watch your dpi setting - and/or to inches/cm, in which case you're set once you plug in the values by JopieK).
  12. I finally made up my mind: Bluecoats (although the new Redcoat torsos are really nice too). For me it isn't really about Britain vs. France, I just prefer the whole look (including the fleur-de-lis flags) of the Bluecoat faction. I already have a nice idea for a Bluecoat sigfig... (btw: why is this thread bumped via classic-pirates.com?)
  13. That depends on your dpi (dots-per-inch, i.e. how many pixels are printed on an inch, 2.54cm, of paper) setting. You should be able to do the math once you have your dpi setting. A default in many applications is 72 dpi I think.
  14. The 1989 Dutch catalog cover :
  15. That's why I said 'just right' on the details: they strike the perfect balance between realism and 'Lego-like' decals. I don't know if the 'pixelization' is noticeable when you print the on minifig-scale, but if it is, you might want to smooth it out a bit more...
  16. Nice, I like the idea. Hope there's enough news for you to post regularly... I will keep an eye on it.
  17. Just check the link in the opening post, should be pretty much self-explanatory...
  18. The Modular Buildings (Cafe Corner and Green Grocer) are over 2,000 pieces each and cost €150 on S@H, but then again a ship would have a higher price per piece because of the large hull pieces and things like sails.
  19. Oh yeah! Complete with interior should be possible with about 2,000 parts, i.e. around €150/$150 (like CC/GG). This may be too wishful think though...
  20. Great! Not too detailed, just right...
  21. Looks like 1989 is winning hands down... do you think there's any 2009 set that comes close to beating its 1989 equivalent?
  22. That's another direction that I hope they won't take. I like the - kind of cartoony - realism of the pirates theme. I hope they don't introduce fantasy factions like they did to the castle line.
  23. That's just a little mischief in the first pic. I really feel sorry though for the yellow spaceman in the second one: what the megabloks are they doing to the poor guy?
  24. I bet all of Redbeard's children are illegitimate
  25. Great. You're an expert at combining modular and classic town and at packing such a detailed layout in a relatively small space. (Just get that flesh-tone minifig out of there ) Too bad you can't take it home with you.
