  1. Did you manage to do that without loosing the rights to make yourself a root admin again?
  2. I got a 8.92 score (I guessed a 9 ex-ante, so pretty good guess). I'm a purist mainly because having Lego as a hobby means working around the limitations set by the Lego System. Like the Walrus said: where does it end otherwise? I also realize that everyone has a different opinion on what's acceptable or not and I notice with myself that the opinion on this probably changes over time as well. But painting, cutting (even flex tube), and stressing elements are definite no-go's. Also, I don't disassemble minifigs' arms, legs, and hands. Furthermore, I'm more ok with adding custom elements than modifying official elements. But then again: there are only a few customizers out there who make quality stuff that doesn't look out of place when used together with official elements.
  3. Nice ones again. Broadside looks really satisfied with himself, but what's Hound so agitated about?
  4. So you got a head transplant* then, because your body is the new type with anchor print (I should also get a walrus one day to do some whacking...). * or a body transplant, of course, depending on your point of view.
  5. * Plays some mysterious music...
  6. That beach is amazing. I also really like the wave.
  7. That clarifies things. Thanks!
  8. According to media the fire was spotted relatively quickly and the fire brigade was fast to respond, but I guess would just tends to burn really fast. There is no indication of arson so far.
  9. Another advantage of the tic-tac-toe set over the other 'army-building' options is that you get - as far as I can see from the pictures - at least 3 and probably 4 different faces on the soldiers.
  10. Hmm, I thought walruses were all the way up in the food chain already. Anyway: congrats!
  11. I'm not an expert, but wouldn't some sort of vector format be better than a jpeg for scaling purposes? Then again I'm not familiar with how these are created in MLCAD (vector format or some 'bitmap' format). Making the background transparent might be good for some of these too and jpeg can't handle transparency.
  12. Nice, next to all the interior detailing, I also like the color scheme used on the walls of the building. One question, what are the technic bricks in the shelves supposed to represent (not technic sets I assume )?
  13. Even the bikes in the racks are German (colors of the flag). It looks great overall. The only comment I have is that the diagonal line look kind of "blocky" compared to the overall smooth look of the station. You might try out some of the diagonal Tudor techniques that others - primarily in castle building - have used.
  14. I went to bed. Sorry, I thought I made it "mysterious" enough this way, but it's funny what you did with the spoiler text...
  15. I've been messing around a bit with the address bar in my browser and I think I know what you're up to (sorry couldn't help myself, although it wasn't so hard to guess).
  16. Hound Knight, I've been browsing your brickshelf folder of users' sigfigs (of course I had seen most of them on the board) and I have to commend you on your skills of turning users' minifig-sigfigs into nice drawings while keeping the minifig feel to 'em. I hope you don't mind doing one for me as well in the future once I decide on an appropriate minifig-sigfig.
  17. I've been measuring all distances in studs ever since I was 3.
  18. My one and only MOC worth showing off so far...
  19. Via this news item on The Brothers Brick: a never-released "prohibition theme": Personally I'm not surprised this gangster-theme didn't make it to production, but it looks like there were some great designs and new pieces to be released. Oh, and some classic space madness
  20. The tic-tac-toe set is so much better in terms of fig selection than the battle pack. Battle pack sounds like you can buy loads of em to make armies, but the governor and pirate captain are not suited at all for that purpose. The lower and higher ranks are represented in way better proportions in the tic-tac-toe set, making this the actual battle pack in my opinion. As for the minifig collection: I also don't buy 'em, but this one looks good: castle fans will be pleased, but... WTM* is up with all the classic spacemen!? * What the megabloks
  21. It's even better... click 'more views'
  22. ... when you dream of finding MISB 80s town sets (priced accordingly) on the shelf of a small toy shop.
  23. Great! And it's huge... love all the little details in there and the unpolished look of everything, like the roofs on both towers.
  24. Really nice, you kept it compact yet added so much detail to it. Thanks also for the instructions, I'll be sure to borrow some of the techniques whenever I'm ready to try some classic car building of my own.
  25. These last two are great again. I always meant to try one of those door techniques (the sliding door idea you posted on flickr is also really cool). And if there's one type of car suitable for 5-wide then it's these 50s US cars. Brilliant!
