It won't, there's less than 20 studs available in the garage: 16 (x 8 tile) and 4 (x 4 plate/tile in the back) minus the space occupied by the roller door and the back door.

Great model, with set-like (e.g., playability) qualities. Love all the little details.

If implemented, I also wouldn't be bothered to go and hand out rep points. Furthermore, in the relatively short time I've been on EB, I feel I quickly had an idea of who were the quality contributers to the forums/community. Finally, I feel everyone gets treated the same here on EB (whether new or veteran user), something that could (I'm not saying would) be distorted by a rep system. Your 'away status' suggestion sounds ok (although the location field could be used by a user for this, even though it's not meant for it).

That one near the middle (with the printed face) is cute... even though its wider than 1 stud...
-
Nice detailing, I have to refer back to your classic car instructions when I try something like this for myself.
-
Great work, as others have said before: great color combination (the red really breaks up the grey of the hotel on the upper floors), nice way to bring the surroundings alive, nice detailing in the moc. I look forward to really search for your sigfig in future MOCs.

I absolutely love Top Gear! (ok enough off-topic) The whole purpose of the tv series (getting kids away from their computers and into playing with toy) also appeals to me, but I'm really looking forward to this Lego building challenge.

He's our LowLUG ambassador (although that's not really obvious from his post). Hinckley, you may have missed this, because Harald isn't added to the ambassador group yet...

Look ma'am, your pan came out good as new. or: Sorry, but these crystal pieces were some damn cheap at that PaB wall, I just couldn't help myself.

Chrome gold 1 x 2 tiles and flaking chrome
Rick replied to jonwil's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You mean they're not really made of gold? Seriously, I thought that the new not-so-shiny (what's the english word for this?) silver and gold parts were much less prone to this... -

Although this Brickshelf gallery shows some nice details from 10197 Fire Brigade, it also reveals some color issues. The dark-red and light-bley are just... (I hope it's just the lighting, but I fear not). (look at the 2 x 2 light-bley corners ) Edit: upon further inspection (by a LowLUG member paying better attention than me) those greys on the back of the building seem to be old light and dark greys 'unofficially' added as they don't appear on the official photos released by LEGO Edit 2: According to a reaction by the photographer on the Bricktowntalk blog:

Agreed, the lime and light-blue houses are representative of small homes on this scale. The yellow one is - as you point out yourself - a little too large on this scale. More importantly, it isn't as cute as the other two.
-
Cuteness (the scale is partly responsible for this)

Congrats, good luck in your new job and the associated changed in your personal life...

As others have said... you have struck the right balance between an amazingly detailed MOC and a high level of playability. The (ingenious, but still realistic) idea of letting the tracks come in from the back is indeed the only way this can be incorporated in a CC-style line-up. By releasing something like this in the Modular Buildings line, LEGO could get me into trains, because I just have to buy every set in that line , and a station wouldn't be complete without a train... Your design would be perfectly worthy of being officially released, but I fear waaaaaaaaay (I will leave out the rest of the a's, but you get the point) too expensive.

Indeed, this Hotel - but also Hinckley's EBCTC entry - shows that excellent results can be achieved with the basic Lego colors (that I also have most of) as long as you use some nice accent colors... slighty off-topic: What else do/should you use yellow and blue for in town building?
-
I've been following your work on Brickshelf, it's always very recognizable when I see your pictures among Brickshelf's recent folders. As Bluebard already said: an excellent combination of classic town (including the use of primary colors) and the modular standard. Definitely a source of inspiration for me...

This is crazy... but so cool * sets a reminder to have decided upon a sigfig at the latest 51 weeks from now...
-
You've amassed quite a bit of dark blue... great design, lively action, just put a set number on it and it can be the next modular house set.
-
From barman's (Dutch) posts on LowLUG, I can indeed confirm this. It's Ole-Kirk's 1950s house. According to barman, an exclusive for the inside tour of which only 32 were made and 21 handed out to participants.

Danke schön, I mean thanks Thanks again for the name change Bonaparte! Bedankt

The wheels on the firetruck from 10197 on this picture from Brickworld (even better picture here) don't match the ones on the pictures released by Lego and seem totally out of proportion. What's up with that?

Vintage Minifig V3 contains a BLUECOAT!
Rick replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in LEGO Pirates
I highly doubt they had some blue coats in inventory somewhere for 20 years. Like most of the other figs in the collections they just make a new batch of them. I bet they save most of the printing designs made though (but that's a lot easier than the physical products).
