  1. Yeah, that's an excellent little scene, it was also recently featured on The Brothers Brick.
  2. What's the difference between the two anyway, besides quick edit loading inline and full edit opening up an edit-page? edited with quick edit: If it speeds things up, get rid of it edited with full edit: alright, I see, you have all the options available with full edit
  3. Use your Walrus powers! Seriously, I don't ever use fast reply and the stats (posts vs. reads) you posted don't require any further math as to whether it would be more efficient to disable fast reply across all fora.
  4. It's tiny! I saw it this morning on Brickshelf and from the thumbnail image it was immediately recognizable as one of your creations. I see you didn't forget about your signature place-at-least-one-thing-in-at-an-angle. Great work again!
  5. No clue which one came first, but I have only the following 4 classic pirates sets: 6245 Harbor Sentry, 6251 Pirate Mini Figures, 6270 Forbidden Island, 6276 Eldorado Fortress ..., which gets you 10 Bluecoats (yay!) and 3 Redbeards (one would definitely be yay, but three in four sets..., luckily a bit or rearranging of different body parts can get you a good selection of pirates).
  6. Great job! Those are amazingly well-designed decals, really Lego-esque. (Although the blue on the decals doesn't match the dark-blue on the torsos exactly, or am I nitpicking here?)
  7. What a (great) mess... very realistic and detailed
  8. Ok, now I found the appropriate place. The above posts are from the 'Pirates tic-tac-toe' set topic, where there is evidence posted of inferior minifig parts. Is this an issue the ambassadors would like to address with TLG?
  9. "Looking for toast"

    DUST

How often do you guys clean your displays/displayed models?
  11. Side-note: I wasn't on any team. Maybe we could have blackcoats versus bluecoats ( ) or randomly assign color (blue/red) to the winning teams (although I fear that would encounter some opposition ). That's one of the things you find out along the way and that can be improved upon once another tournament is organized. I think this is considered 'spam' according to Eurobricks rules.
  12. Yes, it's probably a good idea to make sure that the open backs of the classic town sets are on the edge of the town and the closed backs of some classic town sets and the modular sets are in the center. Also ensure that the height of the classic town sets you place near the modular buildings come somewhat close to the modular sets, i.e. at least two stories high. I think the Town Plan cinema and the 'house-being-constructed' of the 2009 City line would go relatively well with the modulars. Maybe also Main Street and City Corner. For reference, there is a thread about whether modular and classic town go together well: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27580
  13. What happens if 3 (or 4) bluecoat and 1 (or 0) redcoat teams make it to round 2?
  14. Agreed, try to get rid of the sheep colors. Otherwise: nice and simple design.

Nope, that 'runabout' is a weird translation from German:
  16. Let me then use this thread to congratulate you on that victory. Bluecoats had the entries with the best sense of humor anyway, which casts doubt as to whether the redcoats are really British, cause they're famous for their good sense of humor (just kidding, there were some pretty hilarious redcoat entries as well).
  17. What!? A marriage is more important than enough room for your Lego? I bet everyone is constantly running into these issues. Storing models unbuilt seems to be the most straight-forward solution. Let me know when you plan to sell some Lego
  18. Congratulations Svelte. Have fun moving walrus.
  19. Sure, it doesn't need to be in the construction per se, I think the details and accessories will take care of a lot of the color.
  20. I like the style of the docks. The stone foundations for the cranes really break up the brown of the docks. Maybe you could try to add some more color to break the brown here and there.

    City 2010

As K-D said, the mix-up arises from the German > English translation, Stadtflitzer (Stadt = City; Flitzer is harder for me to translate, but it refers to speed, something like 'flasher') is almost certainly referring to a car. That's not to say that I wouldn't welcome a roundabout, but as many others I would prefer the public transport exclusive.
  22. Nicely arranged scene. The general (Armendariz) will like this... (considering his Tournament of Retribution entries).
  23. Nice scene. All the foliage makes it lively and green. The hut is nicely done, but may be a little small. One suggestion though: the hanging tree may be a better hanging tree when you let is hang over the water some more, right on the edge of that rock. It's a bit too straight for my taste.
  24. GIFs are not by definition animated (upon quick inspection, Joey's link does not contain animated GIFs). An advantage over JPEGs is that they can handle transparency, but PNG can also handle transparency. But I would definitely agree on the 'no' to animated GIFs!
  25. I had the same reservations - especially about the blue - before I bought my copy of S@H (already quite some time ago now, before GG was even released), but I haven't regretted buying it even one second. As pointed out before, the design is clearly 'Lowlandic' (Dutch/Belgian), maybe that's what makes the facade somewhat more attractive to me. I actually like the default setup as it tends to break up the rows of houses with a little (covered) alley, which is quite realistic I think.
