No one should have any reason to be afraid to step forward in your situation. I'm just saying you shouldn't be so focused on your own survival. In our common interest, you should happily take the bullet for the sake of the Royal Family. As I said before, it's unlikely we're going to be as lucky as last night and some member of the Royal Court is probably going to die tonight. With you protected, the chances of the victim being a member of the Royal Court are going to be bigger than with protection on someone else. There's no denying that and frankly that's all I'm trying to say. But I'm sure the protector doesn't need me to spell this out for them. Ta ta. See you tomorrow.
-
You're right, there's the chance that the protector randomly protects an Assassin, but at least there is an equal chance of protecting someone from the Royal Family. If you're protected, that certainly won't be the case. More importantly, I don't see why the Assassins would want to target you because, should you die, there will be someone to take your place. I assume we'll be far from an endgame situation tomorrow, so the Assassins would be foolish to claim your role and a counterclaim would surely follow. So, as an Assassin I would be hoping the protector wastes his action on you tonight.
-
It's likely we're not going to be as lucky as we were last night and one of the Royals is going to be killed the coming night. You're not going to honestly argue that it's irrelevant who that person is, are you? The Assassins need to specifically kill the Royal Family and anything that increases the chances of that happening, like you asking for protection (instead of having the protector try to protect a member of the Royal Family), is going to bring them closer to their goal. Besides, in your initial accusation of me, you said you're replaced when you die, so I fail to see why - if you're truly acting in the interest of the Royals - you should be afraid to be killed or even targeted.
-
I know it was my idea to explore alternatives, simply because I know the result you have on me is incorrect. An alternative presents itself, namely that I was protected and that's why the Assassin's kill did not go through, and you are quick to dismiss it. What you don't seem to want to dismiss is the truth that your result was somehow twisted. I understand you want to follow up on your lead, but please don't deny that you're very quick to dismiss alternatives. Pushing for my lynch is going to lead you to lynch two Royals: me today and you tomorrow. Or do you already have your "Ooops, don't shoot the messenger" story prepared? What's really starting to worry me is that ever since you shared your result on me you've been very keen on stressing that it's pointless to attempt to kill you, because your role passes on to someone else (how convenient). Yet, you also subtly ask for protection, whereas, if you truly are Royal, the noble thing to do would be to ask for protection of someone who cannot be so easily replaced as you. If the protector chooses to protect you, they'll know they're not protecting a member of the Royal Family. So, protecting you actually increases the Assassins' chances of coming one step closer to achieving their win condition tonight. I see no reason either, which actually leads me to believe the protector claim. People believe your claim because no Assassin would lie about an investigation result, especially not so early on. By the same logic, I see no reason why an Assassin would lie about protecting me, so I have a hard time believing it's some sort of 'trickery'. What do the Assassins stand to gain? I understand you're all going to test Shanana's investigator claim by lynching me and I'd do the exact same. But, as a Royal, I also feel it's my duty to point out Shanana's fixation on me and her quick dismissal of alternatives. In the meantime, I have given some more thought to this situation we're in. I'm starting to doubt that the sole reason we all have alter egos is to protect the Royal Family. The Royal Family could have simply been disguised as guards, jesters, or whatever. Why does that require all of us to assume alter egos? Notice that the Assassins' objective is to kill three Royal Family members. Our objective is to kill three Assassins. What about the other two groups of three? Now also note there is explicit mention of the possibility of third-parties being involved, followed by an ominous "...". I just ask you to consider the possibility that Shanana has her own agenda here. Could it be that she has to kill all members from one of the groups? Or could it be that she has to survive and kill one member from each group: one Royal Family member, one member of the Royal Court, one member of the Royal Guard, and one of the Assassins? This would require her to work with both the Royals and the Assassins. Looking at her behaviour today, I don't think that idea is far-fetched at all. You don't seem to be having a hard time explaining it. It's a lot like a normal investigator, with the same chances of them being killed or blocked, but it's a lot more secure and the messenger role even passes on. These are major upsides to the role and I refuse to believe there's no apparent downside to it. Yet, even though your action conveniently passes on should you be killed, you still seem overly concerned about your own life. Not very noble behaviour if you ask me.

I can't say I'm surprised. I seem to be a night action magnet. But as indicated earlier, a protected target is a potential explanation for the lack of a kill last night. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if I also was the Assassins' target for a kill last night. So, whoever protected me last night, I thank you for protecting me, but it appears I'm still going to get lynched today over an incorrect investigation result. You're right, it doesn't, but I've given plenty of reasons why that result shouldn't necessarily be trusted. ... or I was the Assassins' target last night, but their kill failed because I was protected. That's a good point, there really wasn't/isn't a good reason to trust Meahan with information like that.
-
Bravo if you are, but indeed, I don't think you're an Assassin. It just seems like too small price to pay to have such a powerful role on our side. And I acknowledged that... .. but it doesn't mean it's accurate. I have become the victim of some action that has clearly twisted your investigation result. I don't know whether that's one of our actions designed to protect the Royal Family (like some sort of redirection or character switching) or a framing action by the Assassins. I just know your result is incorrect and you'll be losing a member of the Royal Court, just as you'll likely be losing a member of the Royal Court tonight or maybe even, as you seem to think might happen, at noon already.
-
Well, I'm not (not that you wouldn't expect me to say this if I truly were a Kensmy Assassin). Now you could either be an Assassin yourself and you're setting me up or there is some way the result you got back got mixed up. I don't see how you could pull this off if you're an Assassin, so for now I'm inclined to believe you're not scum (but let's not rule out third-parties here...). If this is indeed how your investigation works then that's an awfully powerful weapon we have and it means that we can always credibly and safely communicate investigation results. It almost seems too powerful to not have any downsides. And the downside seems to be that the investigation you got on me is somehow incorrect. I have no concrete idea how it might have happened. I may have been metagamed some more framed last night. But given the Assassins are trying to find the Royal Family and we all have an alter ego to protect the Royal Family, I also wouldn't be surprised if 'the heavens' allow for some sort of identity-switching at night. I think it's likely that we have actions that switch identities or redirect actions somehow. If you look back at yesterday, you'll see I wasn't interested in a quick lynch at all. I was interested in learning something from yesterday's events and lynching is the way we normally try to get ahead of the scum. If Shanalon is telling the truth about the way investigations are conducted, I understand her caution about lynching yesterday a whole lot better. It's possible that one of us drops dead in a matter of hours. But I still think it's more likely that either the killer was blocked or their target was somehow protected. I agree, 'the heavens' wouldn't be so cruel to make the investigator an Assassin who can lie to you, but that doesn't mean the information you get is accurate.
-
I guess it depends on whether we lose someone with an investigative action when we mislynch. If we don't, the pool of targets for a watcher or tracker decreases, thus increasing the chances of finding the Assassins' killer. Anyway, my main point was that I have a hard time believing the Assassins decided not to act last night.
-
I don't think anyone was predicting any nightly disasters because of not lynching. I just think we would have learned more from yesterday's votes and behaviours if we would have lynched. ... or the Assassins' target was protected. Either way, someone seems to have done the right thing last night. But, I agree, if someone was successfully blocked last night, that could be a good lead to follow up on. I don't think a lot of people said that they felt very strongly about either of these two, but if nothing new comes up, their behaviour yesterday still stands as somewhat suspicious. Remember that some of the votes were switched around near the end of the day to force no lynch. We seem to agree that we shouldn't repeat that today. I honestly don't think the Assassins would forgo their chance at a kill just to avoid getting caught. They risk the chance of being tracked or having their target watched every night and those chances are only going to increase.

What were you looking for? Friends reviews can be found in the review index. And with the release of pictures of the second wave of Friends sets, we should really update the first post with pictures (soon... ). The decision was made because Friends uses a City setting with many buildings that could easily be integrated into an average tabletown. Also, the scale is more or less the same. Some themes just don't "naturally" fit in one of our theme forums, so a decision has to be made on where to put them (like putting LotR in Historic Themes and PotC in Pirates, as opposed to Licensed Themes). No, the Ladies don't get any preferential treatment. At least not when it comes to accessing Friends information. Pictures of the Summer wave of Friends sets (click for higher resolution images):

The building should be built on a 32x32 baseplate in line with the rest of the Modular Buildings line and you have to include a 'standard' sidewalk. If your question is if you can use a 48x48 baseplate and use the remaining space for something else, then the answer is 'no'. Yes... and no... but let's not have that discussion here. Your pictures should only include your entry. Remember that, for categories 1 and 3, the aim is to build something in the spirit of the Mini Modulars and the buildings from the Modular Buildings range, i.e. it should be similar in terms of dimension, piece count, etc.
-
Well, as things stand, it looks like we're getting a lynch today. But those pants back on wrinkly.
-
Entries for categories 1 and 3 should fit the Mini Modulars (8 x 8 stud base) and the Modular Buildings range (32 x 32 stud base), respectively. Updated the rules.

Thanks, I updated the 2012 City set pictures topic with pictures from this site.

I don't think it's a good idea to let this day end without a lynch. I agree we don't have any good solid leads and the odds of finding an assassin on the first day are certainly against us, but we need to start somewhere.
-
It might be nothing of course, but I'm afraid this indeed is the best "lead" we have today. So, I agree with you that it makes sense to vote for either Charles or Bess. Out of those two, I'm going to vote for Bess as she seems to be the one defending Charles. We all know defending someone on the first day is never a good sign. Either you're defending a Kensmy buddy and trying to avoid a bandwagon forming or you're trying to look like a member of the Royal Court by defending someone you know will turn up loyal tomorrow morning. Vote: Bess Bulton (Bob)

I don't see what's so hard to understand about this:

Right... you have a lovely pair of... goggles. You're getting the hang of sailing this barge really quickly, JP. Keep it up and I might have a go at cheating with the girls guys down there.
