I'm only offended because you haven't included me. Oh, and ACPin isn't staff.

Agreed. Either is fine. I'm not sure what this is saying; 'She was the first person to start in the contest' might be better. This is understandable, and would be how most English people would say it. Technically, 'panic' is an abstract noun like 'fear' so shouldn't have the article, but I think it sounds clumsy without it. You would have to say, 'If, suddenly, there is panic...' I think this might be ok, depending on the context. For most uses, 'are claiming' is better. 'Majority' is singular, so it should be 'is' Either of yours. Unless someone called 'Morality' is returning whence she came! The original is ok, but 'is increasing' is better. Your guess is as good as mine! I think the problem is the word 'with'. Replace it with 'for', and either works. Unless, that is, you are talking about (for example) a play featuring a cast of unemployed people, or something like that. I think 'make' is fine in this context, though 'create' is probably better. 'With' works, but it's casual. 'Through' or 'using' would be better. Again, the original works, as does 'result in' or 'end in'. The problem is the verb 'to be' at the end, which should be 'to look'; then, either the original or yours would work.

Nice! This seems to be a popular building for Architecture MOCers. However, Architecture MOCs go in Special. Moving....

I've noticed previously that 80s LEGO bricks (especially plates) tend to be 'squeaky' when put together: (This from my review of 1984's 6928) I noticed a similar 'change' to the feel of the bricks that I cleaned for the Yellow Castle restoration. They seemed to feel 'sticky' after I cleaned them. However, the feel (and, to an extent, the clutch) returned to normal after wiping them with a dry cloth. So, while there may be an increase in clutch over time, I suspect it is exacerbated by residue left over from the cleaning process.

No worries, and thanks for the link!

Sorry, Dane, but you aren't the first to spot this. It's being discussed here. I'll merge shortly.

Thanks for reviewing this, Luxor! It's great to see a high-quality review of a Boardgame. I think these Games sets make great parts packs, particularly if you can get them on sale. We bought this one purely for the baseplate, but the tan and dark tan blocks are very useful for landscaping, and, like you, we can never have too many tiles. We actually have several games sets, but I don't think we ever played them!

Custom Star Wars Minifigures
Rufus replied to Emperor Assault's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I've edited your title so that it is less shouty and slightly more specific. And I'll move this to the MCW. -
I'll merge this into the relevant thread soon.... done.

Happy Birthday Sinner! Have a great day my friend!

I'll merge this shortly into 'CMF Future Series Rumours'. -
Those should be big enough. But you could post this question inside the Academy.

Have a think. Have you been into any forums that aren't visible to most members? I can spell it out for you if you like. Don't make me show you. -

Posts in certain forums don't count. The lower number is the one that determines your rank. -
You'll be OK with smaller sets for the lower levels, but we will insist on you reviewing larger sets as you progress. But I'll let you in! I was waiting for you to introduce yourself, which you now have. Access granted to both! Welcome to the Academy.

That's pretty cool. Nice use of Bionicle parts! Shame it's a bit too big for a minifigure... It might suit a Belville figure, though. That's one crossover I'd like to see!

DraikNova, if you're going to criticise, then please criticise constructively, rather than resorting to insults. Thanks.

I love these old ideas books! I have this one, but mine is also missing the cover. However, this one appears to be no. 222. I remember as a kid being particularly impressed by this car. It's great to see the models recreated after all these years! Thanks for sharing.

Fives, your first image was way too large. Please resize it to maximum 800x600 px. Thanks.

A larger drum could be made from a 2x2 round brick with a 2x2 round tile on top, and perhaps a 2x2 round plate with rounded bottom on the underside. Alternatively, use two 2x2 round plates and two 2x2 round tiles connected bottom to bottom - you'd need to cut a small length of flex-tube to do this. Attaching them to the figs would need string, or elastic bands. You could use the Hula Girl's maracas for the strikers. For the smaller side-mounted snare drums, the best solution I can think of off-hand is to use a 1x1 bucket (I think you can fit a 1x1 round plate in the top, but I haven't tried) with its handle hooked over the hilt of a sword worn in a scabbard. I imagine it would be a bit flimsy but worth a try! Let us know how you get on. Edit: I tried the sword thingy and the sword hilt is too big. But it does work with a lever handle fed through the scabbard.

Thanks for reviewing this, Jimbee! I like your solution to the transparent piece photography problem. I'd love to get my hands on one of these. Our most recent local LEGO store opening was Westfield Stratford where I queued and got.... a T-shirt.

Thanks for the info! Added to first post.

I'd certainly sign up if we could have a reunion of all the players!
