The Pyramid seems to measure approximately 30x12, possibly a bit more. So it's actually more like a half-pyramid, with the facind side steeper than the others. The back is likely open, and I'm quite curious as to what that interior looks like. If I had the money I would probably think about buying 2 sets and building them back to back in order to have a full pyramid!

John Lewis now has 10199 Winter Toy Shop (both in stores and online) priced at a very reasonable £39.95.

Very convincing replicas, MetroiD! Lots of details in a very small volume. I might try building a similar one someday -- in white and orange like the one I owned back in the days!
-
Good to know that the Adventurers are back! Not exactly in the same theme, but do you have any details about the upcoming Ramses Return game? Like for instance, is it another pyramid, does it have micro mummies, whatever?

In the same vein, as seen on S@H UK today: (find the error)

3 Ticks and the treasure is ours!

Great jungle, I love the variety of foliage! What about that treasure hiding in the corner, any chance that we may have a better look at it? -
6L Thin Yellow Beam
Fugazi replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Of course I don't know the official answer, but it likely has to do with limiting the number of different parts in a given set. I can see that the 7L yellow beams were already required elsewhere in the build. Substituting the 6L with more 7L simplifies the overall part inventory TLG has to manage for that particular set (8043). -
Well at least they have funny names! Bonezai... Then again, might be worth it for the bones!

Don't worry about that, your English is excellent! Thanks for sharing the news here, and good job getting your hands on that catalogue!

Thanks for all the details, nausicaakro! If you don't mind I will update the first post with your information. A few questions, if you can tell us: -Is there a definite name for the theme in your catalogue? (Pharaohs, Pharaoh's Quest, other?) -Any details about the Pyramid? Is it a full pyramid, or just a fraction of one? -Are the vehicles looking like 1920-30s vintage, or more modern? Cheers!

Well I'm a fan of the licence but I don't care much for playing with my sets or displaying them. I don't have any HP sets yet (dark ages ), but if I buy any the main reason will be the terrific unusual parts and accessories that HP sets are usually replete with. This wave seems to be no exception, and I have my eyes set on the Burrow!

K-D: This just goes to show that you can't make everyone happy! Some of the minifigs you dislike are among other people's favourites, and the opposite is true. Add the young kids in the mix, and I'm sure this series will sell just as well as the previous two! -

I agree with you here. Only time will tell, but I strongly believe what we see now is what we'll get. And why not? While some other 2011 sets may still be in pre-production stages, in order to have the minifigs ready in time for late-December or January their production is likely already underway. -
Very nice setting, I hope Lego in their upcoming Egypt theme can do just as good!

True. Extra fish would be nice. And I forgot to add: probably extra visor for the cyborg and extra goggles for the snowboarder. -
Very nice! I always thought ancient Rome (or Greece) would make an awesome theme, and this goes to prove it with a simple build that could well have been a small Lego set. And with next year's Atlantis new moulds you would even be able to replace the photoshopped columns with ribbed Lego ones! Where is Asterix when we need him, there are Romans to be whacked!

Moving on, I wonder what kind of extras we will get with Series 3. An extra tennis racket would be awesome, as otherwise I will need to find 2 of the tennis players (she can't play alone, can she?) An extra trophy for the sumo fighter is guaranteed, I suppose. Extra maraca as well if the hula girl ends up with them as accessories. What else? Extra banana perhaps? -
Eurobricks Raffle and Mystery Treasure Hunt
Fugazi replied to WhiteFang's topic in Forum Information and Help
Thank you WhiteFang, Siegfried and all the EB staff involved in this terrific raffle! You guys have really worked hard to set up this one, but the extra effort was totally worth it! It was very enjoyable to work my megablocks off for a chance to enter the raffle! This is certainly something I would like seeing again in the future. I think the level of difficulty of the clues was well balanced, and at the moment I can't think of any suggestions for improvement. Thanks a lot! -

Terrific stuff! A few quick comments: Hawaiian dancer: awesome skirt piece! cloth or plastic? Hope to see it again in future minifigs. Too bad they didn't use the same in white for tennis player, but of course this is all preliminary stuff. EDIT: before any other perverted mind mentions it, I wonder if TLG provided her with underwear? Fisherman: Love him, don't quite know why! Elf: I'll be curious to see if other hair pieces will fit the new head mould. This may limit the army-building potential of the minifig. EDIT: if the ears are really part of the hair piece, then it's possible to have different facial expressions but hair remains the same... still not perfect. Alien: Will they really recycle Squidtron's head? I though they would create a new alien head altogether. Gorilla: Doesn't quite look like a costume, could be intended to represent a real gorilla as well. Is there a minifig head under the mask? -
Eurobricks Raffle and Mystery Treasure Hunt
Fugazi replied to WhiteFang's topic in Forum Information and Help
Yep, the weightlifter was the most difficult of this batch for me, as I am unfamiliar with Batman references. What saved me though was Peeron (again), searching 'venom' got me minifig parts from the Batman set as results! -
Well it'a log cabin, not a Victorian mansion, but yeah, it's a small set. It's hard to see but I think it's even open-backed, like City houses. And yes, looks like it sits on a collection of smaller plates (one is blue), not a true baseplate. I may be mistaken about the colours, but if it has tan windows and a tan door, plus a dark red roof, then it's all good stuff for the parts bin!

When and what will the next themed month be?
Fugazi replied to Joey Lock's topic in Forum Information and Help
Oh come on, give it a chance! Did Bionicle fans start complaining during the PoP theme month? I'm sure they didn't. There are probably other events prepared for the HF month, they don't have to reveal everything at once do they? I'm not into action figures at all myself, but I'm open minded. This forum is not about exclusion, but inclusion of everything Lego. If you don't like a theme, just wait until next theme month comes around! -
So it really is a Johnny comeback! Winged mummies is a strange choice of opponent, but I suppose kids will like. And the accessories sound interesting. Thanks for the update! (Oh and by the way, it would be best to repost this in the new thread dedicated to the Egypt theme, thanks!)

This is exciting news nausicaakro! Thanks! I probably can think of many questions, but first: the Elf ears, are they part of a new head mold, or part of the hair mold ? On a separate mold all by themselves? In any case this may well be the army-builder of Series 3.
