  1. I'm sorry you do not regard me with high respect anymore, but you will not have me begging for mercy. If my arguments won't be heard, it's too bad. I'm not a Virgin, so nobody really has any qualms about 'testing' me. I understand that the loss of one protector doesn't worry this camp overmuch. For one thing, my death will not directly cause the our demise. But more importantly, there's a major difference between my case and the lynches of the sincere campies who came before me -- I do not have hope. See, all of them could have been investigated and cleared, so I can understand their desperation and frustration at being lynched without anyone trying to clear their name. I on the other hand cannot hope to be investigated again, since it has proven impossible twice. What can I ask for that hasn't been tried already? If my arguments won't be heard because you only want to consider night evidence, what more can I do? Yes I'm annoyed that the Campies got me, because I'm one of them. Camp FTW!
  2. I object! There are unvotes, see: Unvote: Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick) Since you are all still bent on lynching me, I am tempted to make this day last as long as possible and bore you to death. Can I have an extension to 96 hours please? Ok, maybe not. Vote: Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick) I don't know how their actions work. Maybe they're targeting me, maybe they're targeting active townies in order to frame me, maybe they have different plans that just happen to make me look guilty. What it does suggest is that they have someone with inside knowledge of the townie moves.
  3. Because I wasn't framed in the role sense, by a framer. Framed like in set up to look suspicious by repeated use of Cultist Unsuccessful Result BlocksTM (aka CURBs) on me or the people targeting me (mainly). I forgot to mention that your role is also pretty much a duplicate of the Cherrinator, just less useful. Just thought I would add that.
  4. There, at least someone admits that the night immunity theory doesn't make any sense. The reason all the unsuccessful night actions are focused on me is that I am the one being framed here. And because the important actions have been focused on me since that first unsuccessful result. It's a vicious circle and in the meantime the scum are free to do whatever they choose to. That is the reason why we haven't been successful catching them at night, because we haven't been looking in the right direction. Not loosing too much? What are the chances of preventing a night kill when a single protector is trying to guess which Virgin will be the most likely scum target every night? Perhaps you would like me to adopt a defense reminiscent of a proven Virgin instead? Well since this is likely my last chance to help this ungrateful camp, I will not let my vote to be totally wasted. Vote: Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick) It's nothing personal Roger, but with the limited information I have my guts tell me that you're the most likely candidate for a scum in disguise. You have a role that the Cultists would love to have -- and probably do -- and you can pretend helping the town by doing exactly what you are asked to. If someone tells me that you have been investigated by Bluto and found innocent, I will unvote. But this is my best shot at guessing who would be a Cultist among us.
  5. Where is everybody? Where's Mehmet? Life in the desert was so much more exciting when he was around! I don't understand what is so laughable about Hans trying to give the town time to reconsider their choice, since it was such a bad choice. And why hasn't everyone jumped on the bandwagon? Aloysius, Goodenarde, Leplot and Ettaq, this is your last chance to save yourselves! Tomorrow you will be scrutinised for weird voting behaviour and refusing to lynch a townie, an obvious scum tell.
  6. I perfectly understand your concerns, and the reason you think you should lynch me. Though you have forgotten option number 4: 4.) The scum were informed of an unsuccessful investigation on me, and figured that I would be the target of further prodding. So they made sure I was 'framed' with whatever special blocking action they have until the town finally decided to get rid of their bodyguard. Please see above. Oh, and can anyone guess the poet I am quoting below? Free unsuccessful result for the winner!
  7. Well yeah, since I'm doing no harm. Look at my weepy and hopeful eyes: How will you deal tonight with so many Virgins to protect and only one protector left? Who will likely be blocked again? Not at all. I'm saying that they're no more verified than I am, so when they start returning 'unsuccessful' results you will have no choice but to lynch them too. Not the investigator, you're right in saying that she's unlikely to be scum. The others. And I'm not hanging my innocence on one night result. It's supported by logic that you choose to ignore. But I'm sure that Hans has already forgiven this Camp already for judging him too hastily, and so will I.
  8. And where's our friend Ishaq? Every day I look forward to his contribution. I'm sure he will get me out of this mess.
  9. I was blocked twice. It is those who attempted to investigate/kill/block me who were allegedly blocked 3 times. Though the tracker tracked me just fine. A few points that nobody cared to seriously address. I repeat them here, because I can.
  10. Confirmed how? I understand the Cherrinator or the vig can be confirmed, but what about tracker or investigator? I'm as confirmed as they are, given that they haven't been investigated. Who knows who will be the next one giving 'unsuccessful' results?
  11. I'm saying that you shouldn't trust everybody who is verified by night actions. And you all have been rehashing the same argument that I can't be verified -- which can easily be a way for the scum to frame me and others -- while not adressing the points I made which I think strongly argue that I can't be a Cultist. So tomorrow when the next person you try to investigate, block or kill is also 'immune', you will be facing the same problem. The scum will just lead you from bad lynch to bad lynch until you realise that you weren't looking in the right place to begin with. I just hope that in the morning when Imhotep's eyes flash green you will remember not to take every night result at face value. Any particular reason to support this grand statement, Ahmed?
  12. Any of the roles above could have been simulated by Cultists, any of them. And have any of them been investigated? I'm sure the answer is no. Duplicating protection is relevant in a situation where the scum mission is to kill specific players, in this case Virgins. And verifying Virgins is not good enough. The Godfather of the Cultists or whatever his name is could very well pose as a Virgin and infiltrate their ranks. Clearing them all doesn't mean trusting them all. What I've told Mellifluous -- who pretended being suspicious of you -- is that though I have reasons to trust you (my night action, to start with) we shouldn't let our guard down because the last scum alive will likely investigate as town, perhaps even as Virgin. So even the most verified Campie could turn out to be scum. There, everyone is on the same page. Of course, I could have blocked him when Mehmet told us time and again that he believed that every action would be reflected by the mirror. We saw that tracking, protecting and investigating Mehmet through the mirror were impossible. It's more likely that blocking him would never have worked either. (And yes I knew, I was just trying not to give the scum more information than they already have.)
  13. Quite different. If I die protecting a Scum, you will have lost me but found a Scum. The reason I claimed to Mehmet in the first place was so that someone knew who I was about to protect so the town would understand the reason of my death. Besides, the gods had probably prepared a special death for me that would make it obvious it was not due to the Cultists. On the other hand, lynching me will only rid you of a protector. No gain there. You will be much wiser of course, just like you were this morning when you realised that Hans was a Virgin.
  14. I don't mean now. There were occasions to verify my role claim every night for 5 nights. I don't know, there are many possible explanations. A limited number of shots, Virgins blocked by mistake, who knows. I'm sure than in a couple of days when this ordeal is over everything will make much more sense. Why would I be immune to investigation, killing, blocking but not tracking? It seems unneccessarily complicated to me.
  15. That's a kind gesture Chris, I will make sure to share my clue with everyone if it's of any help.
  16. Right, so this is what I get in return for protecting you night after night, William. If you really wanted to test my claim, you could have asked me to protect someone actually suspicious instead of you or the proven Virgins. Anyway, I was told about the failure of the investigator to get a reading on me two nights in a row. I also happen to have been 'blocked' in the same way myself on nights 3 and 5. What William forgot to mention is that when the vigilante failed to kill Betty Swallocks, he was obviously not targetting me. Yet the same night the investigator also failed. So two scum players with night immunity, right? Sure. Then what about night 2, when I was asked to protect you? The tracker saw me protect you, he was perfectly able to do it and you didn't die. So one night I have immunity, the other I don't? Right. Your evidence doesn't add up I'm afraid. I can't disprove that the vigilante and blocker's actions have failed on me. I have no idea and it could be true, I'm sure you wouldn't have made up those results, William. In any case, anyone who could say otherwise is probably aware of your plan so it's pointless for me to try and verify your claims. I think it is much more likely that the scum have an action allowing them to block a number of Campies every night. They have caught on our protectors, investigator and vigilante and they are blocking them whenever it is possible. Before you say that such an action is ridiculous or unbalanced, let me remind you that the town has (had) three protective actions and a number (that I will not reveal but that William is well aware of) of investigative actions. Balancing those actions with a wide spectrum block is not at all far-fetched in my opinion. Since you mention that I was privy to confidential information from my contact with Mehmet, let me shed some light on that interaction. You are well aware that Mehmet used nicknames and never revealed who actually held a specific action. So knowing about Mehmet's plans doesn't mean that I could do anything about it. Even more, there are many pieces of information that I could have used had I been a Cultist that obviously the Cultists didn't know about. Examples? William is aware that the vigilante was asked to stay home on night 1 so that the Cultists think the one they blocked (Penelope) was the vig. A couple of days later when the Cultists thought that Betty was in danger, Penelope was killed. Not the real vigilante but the make-believe vigilante, Penelope. Mehmet had informed us that Penelope was not the vig, yet the Cultists didn't have that information. It was a vital piece of intelligence the absence of which obviously set them back in their plans, and if I had been a Cultist I would never have risked the life of one of my own on the grounds of (possibly) sparking some suspicion. More examples? The night Mehmet died, he made it abundantly clear in private that he would be protected by the mirror cloak. I don't know about you, but if I had been a Cultist I would have advised to wait until he wouldn't be protected before killing him, or actually kill him a day earlier when he effectively wasn't protected. Why take a chance and risk the kill being reflected to the killer? And don't tell me that the Cultists knew that the cloak wouldn't work that night -- not even the cloak protector himself understood how the cloak worked exactly, so don't give too much credit to the Cultists! I can find more examples of why I can't be scum. Our life here would have played quite differently. Oh, and should I add that the 'way' I was blocked on night 3 is identical to the way the investigator and vigilante were blocked on the same night? And other Campies on following nights? Nobody told me how they were blocked before I was asked, yet my claim matched theirs perfectly. Would a Cultist know what would be the precise result of their action? An unsubstantiated claim. Give me names, quotes. I won't take your word for evidence even though I trust you by virtue of my action. Yesterday was proof enough that you can make up what evidence you don't have. What does 'sowing discord' means to you? Is sharing suspicions sowing discord? In which case, every Campie here is guilty. Every Campie I have had the chance to talk to has shared suspicions with me. Is that sowing discord too? I'm not immune, and I'm not neutral. I would know. It's obvious that the scum would keep the block on me to build up suspicion after the investigator failed the first time. Or because claimed Virgins were obvious candidates for protection. I certainly look more scummy that you who fought very hard to get rid of Hans. Notwithstanding the fact that you have been cleared of suspicion -- even thought no night action is completely fool-proof -- I find your dismissive attitude to what happened yesterday disconcerting.
  17. Oh I see you're waiting for my votes... 1 Penny Maltese (Peppermint M) 2 Chris Owen (Tamamono) 3 Siegourney Harcourt (Siegfried)
  18. I agree we need to share more clues, even if gives the demon a chance to come up with false clues of his own. I'm certainly not going to figure out anything by myself with only one clue. So I asked about the third puddle of blood, and was told that I had found a piece of dark blue fabric.
  19. Keep wondering. We all knew that Hans could be confused at times, yet never thought twice about it. He probably gave up under the pressure and didn't manage to defend himself properly. I don't blame William who I trust and who is trying hard to uncover the last Cultists, he was probably just a bit too excited at Hans' apparent slip-up. But in the general rush to send Hans to Imhotep, the scum had no problem whatsoever to merge in the bandwagon. Could we be more careful today, please? That's the spirit! Mehmet would have been proud of you.
  20. Challenge Begin
  21. Your concerns are duly noted, Mr Bennett. You will note that I did not point a finger at you, since you have used the investigation argument to justify your vote. This is more sensible than other Campies who appeared to disregard the investigation result. Besides I've heard trusted voices vouch for your good behaviour. However, it's disconcerting how on Day 1 you weren't bothered by my independent thinking when I voted for you. Your reply was satisfactory and we all went to bed happy of the progress made. Yet today you would condemn the same sort of independent thinking when I'm pointing out that a bandwagon is forming on shaky ground. The circumstantial evidence was much stronger against Nadir yesterday, I can quote you conversations between Mehmet and him where Nadir sounded more scummy than Nancy the snake. Yet here we are today with one less Virgin in camp. We need to be even more careful as the scum objective is looming closer. And now William is telling me that there was no investigation result against Hans to start with. See what I mean by shaky evidence? You don't like my no voting strategy, and I agree it's not perfect. But there are probably at most 2 or 3 scum left at most, and the list of suspects is just as short. It would be unbelievable that with all the power roles we have in town that we can't catch any of the suspects red-handed during the night. And then we can vote or shovel them out confidently. I'm not trying to defend Gubernaculum. I don't know if he's a Virgin, a Cultist or a camel in disguise. I'm only trying to get this town back on the track of rational and independent thinking that served us so well during the first days. Patrick would want it that way, wouldn't he? Stifling this is counter-productive -- how much information have you gathered in three days of constant bandwagoning? Don't you think that the scum will jump on your bandwagon as soon as it gathers speed? You're welcome to look back on this discussion tomorrow. In this hole in the desert where bandwagoning is the new fad, it would seem there's no way that other voices can be heard anymore. If Hans is scum, you will lynch me for (allegedly) defending him. If he's not, you will want me lynched too because only scum would know he's not one of them. See, there's no way I can win this argument. So yeah, if it will make you happier: Vote: Hans Gubernaculum (Bob) And here's a reward for bearing with me during this long diatribe:
  22. Only privately, unless the case presented by Mellifluous of the Clan Murgatroyd was directed at Johnson Cox. Hugh Janus could tell us perhaps. Anyway, my point was that evidence brought forward both publicly and in private against these two is not to my knowledge supported by anything but vague suspicions. So, even though there's an investigation result on Mr Gubernaculum, all you sheep are voting for is the fact that he's confused about the wording of his virginity? Either this is the lamest bandwagon I've ever witnessed, or the investigation result was never real to start with. Whichever is the case, this only reinforces my initial suggestion that lynching in these conditions is much too risky. If Hans is scum then I'll be happy to see him chewed and pooed by Imhotep, but there shouldn't be a need for fake investigations to get there.
  23. Mehmet is probably rolling his eyes to no end from the mouth of Imhotep right now, seeing how the Cultists have killed the joy in this smelly desert hole... I have reviewed the limited evidence against Hans Gubernaculum and Johnson Cox. Considering that a wrongful lynch at this stage can prove to be fatal, perhaps the best way to go today would be not to lynch at all, and wait for more night investigation results. It's not like it's raining votes anyway. We are getting close to nailing the last Cultists, as most people have been cleared one way or another. We know that the Cultists need more than four Virgins sacrificed, but not how many more. So in the absence of solid facts my opinion is that cool heads should prevail and that night -- and another round of investigations -- will help us more than an uncertain lynch, more likely to benefit the scum at this stage.
  24. Okay, I'd like to nominate a few people who haven't received clues so far. 1. Sheldon Wills (Shadows) 2. Tony Peck (Bob) 3. Chris Owen (Tamamono) Now, thank you Fred for sharing one of your clues. Tan fabric? It would help if we knew what the blood puddles represent, because that piece of tan fabric could either belong to one of our group, someone previously deceased or even one of the original explorers. Sylvia, Richard, Diesel and Fred all have tan clothes, and a few of us have dark tan trousers, though I think dark tan would have been specifically named as such. Or not. And in the Psychic Imprints Monica Maltese also had a tan shirt, if it means anything.
  25. What will it be then? I don't see how debating this will help us to choose wisely. We don't want the killer to be given clues, but how can we avoid it at all if we don't hear the previous clues? Perhaps Samantha and Siegfried can use the information they've been given to select the next 3 people. Siegfried Siegourney
