  1. Is there any mention of the Chief's involvement in those cases? What was the big case about? And who is Seth Barronm? Never heard that name.
  2. Well, I guess the Chief's wife reaction rules out her being involved in his death. I will leave the gun here for the forensics team to inspect, let's head to the police station to have a look at the Chief's office. We don't know if his death was related to personal or work-related problems, so I don't know of a better place to continue our investigation.
  3. You are quite correct. In the interest of brevity I only described the broad lines of numbering patterns, but there are indeed many exceptions, subtleties and details missing. I expect the eventual update to be a little bit more detailed.
  4. I would like to share with the people present whatever I recall of the Chief's phone call.
  5. I agree that we should pay a visit to the Chief's house, first to inform his wife, but also to find out who might have wanted him dead. The more we know about his past, the best are our chances to find a motive to this crime. Can I be reminded where I was when the Chief called last night at 5.30? Actually since the Chief was such a bad husband, perhaps we should be careful around his wife. She is likely to know more about his husband than Mike at the liquor store gives her credit for. She could be a suspect as far as I am concerned.
  6. Chief... I don't understand who would have wanted the Chief dead, it's not like there's organised crime in Lexington or anything. I would have believed in an alcohol-fueled accident, but since there is some evidence of struggle we can't rule out that someone really wanted to hurt the Chief. So there's nothing on him except a receipt? No money, no papers? Could he have been the victim of a thief? Does the Chief have any family that we should contact, doctor? Is someone finally going to take this body to the morgue so that we can find out more about the crime? And I agree, we should have a look at Chief's papers in the police office in case any clues might be found there.
  7. Happy Birthday ISC! Have a great one!
  8. Watch your back, red shirt!
  9. Not true! It's even better -- if you can find time for it!
  10. Deputy Chief Jackie Scott, reporting for duty! And meet my husband, Job. Such a wonderful life companion.
  11. Um, way to start a game! The scum never miss an opportunity!
  12. You're welcome! My text is far from being exhaustive, but it's probably way too detailed already for the average not-too-geeky AFOL! I plan an update at some point down the road, though interest has proven to be somewhat limited. The year 2012 already hints at some interesting numbering choices, as many themes will randomly jump to the 9000 series that were until now pretty much exclusively Dacta/Education stomping grounds.
  13. Lovely! Despite the complicated build, your mill has a charming, quaint look that would perfectly fit in a Fabuland setting! Just make sure the wind doesn't blow too hard! Well done! But, that frog...
  14. Thanks for the pics, damian. I'm quite happy with the look of these sets. The design is at least as good as that of typical City sets, if not better. No big parts, mostly normal bricks in groovy colours. Unlike City sets, scenes are full of details and accessories -- which were expected but not taken for granted. A few new moulds where required, not as many as I thought but many minifig-compatible accessories. As for the minidolls, we've seen them before and either you like them or you don't. I think they're nicely done, and should prove at least as popular with girls as regular minifigs. I don't know if this theme will be successful (who does?) but I certainly find it appealing. More so than most previous girl-oriented themes. I can't wait for my daughter to grow up so I can buy her some!
  15. Sorry for being late to the party! I'm home after a few hectic days away from the computer, so I missed/overlooked the start of the sign-ups. Anyway, if your game is still going forward Bob, count me in! (what, no more TCM? ) -Past Mafia/Mystery Experience. Mafia: Eurodina, Werewolf, The Forest, Belville, Baritones 3 Mystery: Red Scare -Are you available during the time specified? Yes, no travel plans. -Your favorite Collectible Minifigure. (From any series) I quite like the Hockey Player (S4). -Your favorite movie. (This won't help/hurt you, it's just for my benefit) Tough call, so many. '2001 A Space Odyssey' is a classic.
  16. Yes, Pandora said the same when we converted her. Travel and gastroenteritis did partly contribute to my being low profile on some days, and though I was active in Belville I was a low profile townie in most previous games. The conclusion being that I created expectations of a proactive townie that I didn't manage to simulate as a scum. But as scum I found quite difficult to be bold and make the moves that I knew a townie in my position would make. Something to improve on in the future!
  17. Oops, I made the enigma too difficult! It was meant to be solved as 'Beware of Timur'
  18. Ah what a game! Thank you Hinckley for another thrilling experience -- you have had us going through the whole range of emotions once again! And the false Rick conclusion was extremely mean! You almost had me going! I certainly didn't trust Rick to honour our deal, because I couldn't understand why the town didn't have a vigilante. As it turns out, they did have one -- though Roncanator didn't manage to use his powers very often! I'm not very happy with my performance, as I realise that so many people had me nailed as scum. I guess I was saved by Dragonator who was in the spotlight for the major part of the game. On the other hand, our success as a team hinged on Draggy not being convicted, and we were lucky that he brilliantly escaped conviction so many times! It's too bad the dreams we sent Peanuts and Tammo didn't generate any discussion as we had hoped. Taken together, they were designed to have two townies convicted. But Peanuts apparently decided not to share his with anyone, which was the right decision of course! So congratulations to all the players for a fun game, I'm looking forward to playing with you folks again! And thanks to my fellow Russians and Baritones for great team work and lots of laughs!
  19. Do you think we're that stupid? You nicely built up a case for your vote, so tomorrow you claim innocent if Dmitri doesn't prove to be scum. Russian! I would consider changing my vote, but it's too late now. Tomorrow I will remember you.
  20. Time is running out, and we're being asked to choose between two potential scum. I have doubts that Dmitri is really scum, evidence rather point to him being some sort of neutral character. So on a last minute attempt to nail a conviction today I will Vote: Ruslana (Quarryman) The alternative is another Fool Moon Night and a very bad day to come. I urge any of you who have doubts to consolidate your vote in order to have a conviction.
  21. Analysing Day 3 votes, it appears that Dmitri voted quite early on for Donil while the votes were still split between Ruxana, Donil and Stanislav. This doesn't make him look like a Russian. On the other hand, Denis' accusation doesn't make Dmitri look like a Baritone either. This clashes with the incorrect information Dmitri provided about Wilem, a townie. If Dmitri is not a fooled townie, he perhaps has a neutral alignment and can win with both sides. While I agree that this would be the ideal course to follow, it's easier said than done. So far no Baritones were lynched by the town, but were rather killed by the poisoner. Which means we can't use voting information to inform a decision.
  22. Another Baritone! Good work poisoner, whoever you are. That's two Russians and two Baritones down. We don't know how many of each team are left, but we must keep the momentum. The evidence against Dmitri doesn't look good, and I doubt that anyone will admit to having framed Wilem. The way Denis was ready to vote for Dmitri earlier today is interesting. It seems to imply that Dmitri is not a Baritone, but a Russian. Or a fooled townie, although it seems far-fetched.
  23. Oh. I am very disappointed to see that Wilem was a townie after all. I was pretty sure that a scum would be caught this time, but the poisoner was smarter than us. As Wilem mentioned yesterday, his death will at least allow us to get a clearer picture of the forces moving among us. I know that nothing is ever black or white, and that Dmitri could have been fooled while investigating Wilem (by a scum framer, or if Wilem was a miller) but the likelihood of him being scum is much greater. Which is troubling, as we cannot trust the results of his past investigations. Which among the people he investigated (or claimed to) are really town, and which was he only trying to protect? The presence of two mafia groups is reassuring in a way, because if scum are divided they will need more time to overcome both the townies and the other scum group. Hopefully enough time for us to weed them out of this town.
  24. At least you were the star of an amazing conclusion! Now I need to go and read it all again.
  25. Well, now the truth of why people are keen on lynching Dmitri (over Denis for instance) is coming out: he was the target for a grenade, but the grenade failed. I would actually think it's extremely suspicious for someone to escape from death in this way, except for one thing. The grenade not only failed to kill Dmitri, but killed Nika in the process. It's quite unlikely in my opinion that an action failing because the target is protected would backfire on the sender. If the poisoner had targeted Dmitri, wouldn't he have died instead then? No, it points to a defective grenade -- of scum origin probably, if it didn't come from Stanislav. While we will do so with without using such dirty vocabulary, if you turn up to be town (which I'm starting to doubt) we will certainly honour your last wish.
