  1. Two townies down, hopefully losing them won't be in vain and that something good will come out of it. How would the scum have voted knowing that Benji was a townie? Scum are likely to be found both among the voters and the non-voters, some trying to push the conviction, others flying under the radar. There are so many of us it's difficult to single out suspicious behaviours, but given some time and with the help of night clues I am confident the vote today will be better informed that yesterday's. This is interesting. Let's see if it happens again today, and if you're still the target of this hijacking.
  2. I wish you a very happy birthday, Pandora! I guess now at last you can righteously be a member of this AFOL community?
  3. As I mentioned earlier, the prospect of lynching is more appealing than that of being penalised, not only because of the penalty but also because not lynching leaves us with no more information than we already have. The evidence against Benji is as good or as bad as we can hope for on this first day, little more than a hunch but still a reasonable hunch. Considering the time left I doubt that there will be enough votes to reach a majority but at least we will have tried. And hopefully if there is a penalty the voters may be spared. Vote: Benji (Big Cam).
  4. I agree that scum are likely to attempt to fly under the radar on this first day instead of going all out on accusations that can hardly be supported. On the other hand, we must be aware that they would also gladly take a lynched townie as a freebie. Just how much they would dare to push for a conviction, that's the question. Those who have brought forward names are to be thanked for their courage in doing so, despite meagre evidence. They have given us food for thought, though I'm not sure that any of it is sufficient ground for a conviction. I like the idea of voting for a non-participative person, even though today may not be a such a good day to gauge participation. It's difficult to make oneself useful with so little to go on.
  5. Wohoo! This doesn't come as a surprise, you have done brilliantly in every game you have played so far! Congratulations Rufus, carry on your inspiring gaming!
  6. You present your argument in a convincing way Eugene. I look forward to hearing from Nika on this matter. Either way, I must say that it doesn't seem to be a good idea to pick at players with strong (roleplaying) personalities. I don't think it's ever done any good in the past.
  7. In that case, please share with us so that we can start somewhere.
  8. I agree with most of your analysis, but not with your conclusion. If there is a penalty then it's very likely a townie who will suffer from it, but I believe any townie is a valuable asset regardless of having or not a night action. There's not much point in voting if we agree from the start that we shouldn't reach a majority -- the votes would be meaningless or misleading. So, either we vote for the lynch and risk losing a valuable action, or we don't vote and risk a penalty -- or perhaps just a warning this time? But only the lynch will give us information and a chance at hitting scum, while taking the penalty will at best leave us tomorrow in the same position as we are today. So it's like investing really. The safe option with low profit likelihood or the risky one that's potentially more profitable.
  9. Prudence is commendable. Chances are that if we vote we make a wrong choice, considering the numbers and the absence of solid evidence. On the other hand, voting behaviour can help guide our actions tomorrow. Because nothing guarantees that evidence will surface during the night, or that it will come from trustworthy sources anyway.
  10. Well I'm drinking and I'm waiting, but nothing is happening. This is bound to be a long day. Anyway, this reminds me of the old Russian saying: Without torture no science. Which means... well it means that we need to lynch in order to gain evidence. Old Russians were very wise!
  11. Do you guys realise you're posting in a 6 year-old thread? And I don't think there's much of a point in continuing this discussion either. Locked.
  12. Fellatio Falicia here, I always deliver the goods! Yeah baby, bring your slippery pole this way, and let's make babies with curly black hair!
  13. And that would hark back to the first Girl-oriented theme of all, Homemaker (or whatever was its official name), for which these panels were created in the first place!
  14. Happy birthday to both of you!
  15. Happy birthday Phred! Have a great day!
  16. Well I'm not sure this thread is appropriately named anymore... City subtheme? In that case Belville was also a City subtheme, only with larger figs. (Has there ever been a discussion about creating a Girl-oriented forum, including themes such as Scala, Clickits and Belleville? Just wondering...) Anyway while I'm disappointed that TLG turned their backs to a minifig-based girl theme, I'm not entirely put down by the new look. I expect the minidolls to be very successful with girls -- they are appropriately sized for a satisfying building experience, while having more cartoony, curvaceous and proportional features than regular minifigs. Besides, the minidolls' size makes them easily mixed with minifigs if one wishes to. Not something an AFOL is likely to do perhaps, but it wouldn't be such a big problem for kids. Finally, I expect building sizes to be largely compatible between the two systems, which is a big plus over past Girl-oriented themes such as Belville and (gasp) Scala. From the looks of the minidolls, could they have knee joints? That would be awesome. The lack of a wrist joint is not so cool though. One thing is sure, a fraction of AFOL will be happy to have the option of more naturally proportioned figs in a small scale. Yeah, I wouldn't mind MOCing for these figs, assuming that we get a good variety of body parts in due course (including male bodies).
  17. Interesting to note that this fig has a Warner Brothers Entertainment copyright... Perhaps an animated series in the making? edit: Oh, I see that the seller mixes and matches random packaging... So the © is probably from some Harry Potter keychain.
  18. This is a lovely build, Hinckley! I'm always amazed at the number of different building designs you can come up with using a few key Fabuland parts and a good dose of cutting edge intricate MOCing. Highlights in my opinion are the colourful stonework on the terrace, the woodwork and the fountain. Though the fountain and the frog did send shivers down my spine! Ah, the good times! Do you have any comments on the difficulty of mixing the primary colours of Fabulandish elements with yummylicious realistic modern colours? I find it that you're achieving a good mix as you're not limiting yourself to primary colours yet your building doesn't look like a painter's pizza orgy nightmare. Yet you have yellow, blue, green, tan, nougat, dark orange and whatnot. How do you choose your colours when you plan a build?
  19. Ooh, I'd love to join! 1. Your past Mafia experience I have played in Eurodina, Werewolf, The Forest and Belleville. 2. Your availability to post frequently for the next 6-8 weeks I will be travelling a bit in late-August early-September, but I don't expect to be away from the Internet for extended periods. 3. Applied knowledge of the board software's use of the term "portal" I don't know what you're talking about. 4. Your most embarrassing moment Um, so many to choose from! Let's see... How about the time when I shat my pants in public because I couldn't make it to the toilet in time? Granted those shrimp were probably not so fresh, granted the toilet was a bit too far away... Anyway I'll spare you the details, but I had to ditch my underwear and went commando for the rest of the day -- like a true Scotsman which I'm not. Now you know. Um yeah, more travel has cropped up and I don't feel I will be able to focus on the game as much as I'd like to. I guess I'll resign myself to watch this one from the stands.
  20. Ooh, Hinckley, White Fang and def... I predict more blood, aggravation and hair loss. Maybe I should just give up, settle down and live a peaceful life shelling like cheese.
  21. Come on Hinckley, certainly you must know what shelling like cheese means. You're kidding us, right?
  22. Shelling like cheese is certainly a stupid reason to be voted off. Almost as bad as being caught viewing the Portal.
  23. To be fair, I think I paid the price for leading the town on such a poor vote on day 4. I'm sorry iamded, I was so convinced that you were scum! I could hardly claim to be the towniest of town after that mess-up! Love it!
  24. Thanks Rufus! It was a dirty trick, but of course you know that it won't work twice! And congratulations, you had me fooled until the end! I mean, had it not been for your reaction to my vote I wouldn't have known who to vote for on the last day.
  25. With the twist that the players didn't know that none had night actions! I assume that the scum weren't aware of this either? While it was a very interesting game and a new experience for me, I can't help but feeling that a game where players do have night actions but can't communicate privately would have made an even more interesting setting. Next time perhaps! It's not my place to comment on individual players performances, but I do want to commend def for taking on the game as if he had been with us from the beginning, giving his very best for his team. Well done def, thanks!
