Great conclusion to a great game, Bob! Thanks for being our host for... has it been half a year already? Congrats to the winners, and to all the other players! I really enjoyed this first experience in a Mystery game. The plot was well written and captivating, and the pace was good when enough players were around! By the way, did we miss any major clues? If anyone's interested, here's my bio: But eventually...

Have a great birthday!

Agreed, let's search the ship. It will keep my mind off eating!

The patrol boat! They're trying to get away! I'd like to check if the patrol boat is still moored to the Lakota. And while we're here, we could search the Inspector, perhaps he's been stealing interesting stuff? I'm starting to get hungry... Perhaps Dieter can start working on his famous ribs 'a la Liebenston'?

Well done Rufus! So now you're the one we should be bribing around these parts... -
You don't think you are really going to get away with this Liebenston! Drop your gun and the American justice will be fair with you. Keep resisting and you'll be executed along with your treacherous comrades when the Army catch up with you! Krista, I would never have guessed you were one of them. I really thought that the message Jack Howard left saying that we should be wary of newcomers was just a red herring. You didn't reveal much about yourself so I should have been more suspicious of you! But the biggest surprise to me is how the framer was actually a townie! This really confused things, as I kept looking for a commie that could also fit the bill as a framer. I should have known that his elaborate explanation that Frankie couldn't write English was only a ruse! Perhaps Frankie should have revealed his role, that would have helped the town figure out what was going on. On the other hand, I'm not sure I would have believed that the town had a framer! One major red herring though was the National Guard during the first vote who was heard saying that we weren't looking in the right direction when Liebenston and Dolores were tied up in the votes. Oh we were actually doing quite well! It's too bad that the Mayor didn't share his thoughts during the last few days, I'm sure his analysis would have been pretty accurate. So what now? Where's the National Guard when we need them? I don't remember seeing a radio on board the Lakota, so I don't suppose we could sneak a Mayday past the commies.

Spare the rod and spoil the child, they say! Anyway don't go badmouthing your dear mother, or she'll come back from hell to pull your hair at night -- after all, it's your fault if she became insane! -
I don't know, the older instructions where sand blue parts appeared don't have the reference numbers... The modified 1x2 brick with groove would be a new part in sand blue.

The part ID numbers indeed match tan parts. Such a huge variety of new light yellow parts would have been surprising.

13/ Attack on the Nile by Yatkuu (1 point) - could be part of the next PQ wave! 18/ Treasure hunt on the river Nile by Nieks (1 point) - very good execution for this difficult build 20/ The Walking Pyramid by Sandy (2 points) - this would make a superb exclusive! 21/ Professor Hale's Oasis Hacienda by Rufus (1 point) - lovely details both outside and in 23/ Serpent Ruins by Siercon and Coral (1 point) - doesn't work that much as an official set, but stunning nonetheless 28/ The Excavation of the Fortress of Ra Ahmin Ka by Tervlon (1 point) - ambitious and a set I'd love to play with! Many more beautiful entries, so few points to spread around! -
Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Fourteen

Welcome back Congressman! Are the commies really all dead? I though I heard someone say last night that evil was still among us. I would like to suggest returning to the shore on the patrol boat, a few of us at a time if necessary. -

Thanks for the link Mesonak! Interesting to have a first look at 8426 Escape at Sea and 8639 Big Bentley Bust Out. The latter looks like an interesting collection of car characters in nice varied colours and a fair source of tan parts, although the Big Ben design seems more functional than aesthetically appealing. Is that huge technicky flat beam with 3 holes a new part?

Oooh! A Fabuland Housewives game with the real characters! I am so jealous! This looks like a terrific game in the making! I won't attempt to steal a slot in the game from a new player, but... if a newbie named Izaguf ever signs up, I highly recommend him! -
Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Thirteen
Fugazi replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well you're in the Army, I'm not sure that qualifies as the government. However after Harding revealed this piece of information, you go and kill Maxwell Touns who does hold a position in the government. The problem I find with the arguments you use against me is that you didn't use them to select your night targets. Why didn't you go after me, or after any of those who were suspected by the Mayor? Moreover, of your three targets Cain and Harding had size 9 shoes, but Harding also had a peg leg. Harding and Touns were newcomers, yet you insist that one of the citizens present at the start of this ordeal is the surviving commie. You may be right, but I don't understand you attacking me on those grounds when you don't trust your own arguments enough to act upon them. Ralph went and fired on people I could have suspected myself. What you did was to kill barely active people with little evidence to support your actions. Vote: Captain Garrison (Lord Arjay). -

My mistake, the note was indeed directed at Ackerson. Though the way it was written did suggest that the money could have been sent by the Mayor. I don't know, Valerie was killed by mistake and the knife ricocheted off the Mayor so maybe she stupidly stabbed herself? Another possibility is that the commie killer had only one chance at killing and wasted it on the Mayor. If it isn't framing, I don't know what to call it. Officer Harrison's badge was found on a box 'bound for the Soviet Union'. The notes left with both the badge and the money were written by the same person, so they appear to be planned actions. And the commies didn't need to smuggle any money, didn't you notice the staggering amount of corruption money and gold hidden about in Alabatha? Any of us would have been able to find the raw material required to pull this off. Now I don't think that being framed clears someone of suspicion. The framer could have framed himself to confuse us. However Will Ackerson is likely to be on our side. -
Red Scare Mystery - Chapter Thirteen
Fugazi replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Okay folks, now that I had some time to collect my thoughts as mentioned earlier, here is my rebuttal of Captain Garrison's accusations. This is likely and I don’t dispute it. More precisely, one of us may have broken a lock to a window in an vacated apartment, possibly with the intention of catching a signal sent using a communist flag from the roof of a nearby building. However, this doesn’t explain why the lock had to be broken, so it’s quite unclear whether the traces were left by a commie. It could also have been the CIA agent who was still alive back then, we didn't think to ask about his shoe size. We may be following a false lead here. While this is not strong evidence, I tend to agree. What you haven’t proven is whether the visual ‘evidence’ can be used in the way you have. But this is something that only god has the answer to. The Mayor was cleared of suspicion early on while we were investigating his office. Unless the commies are capable of converting loyal citizens to their cause, the Mayor is still one of us. More importantly, he was cleared of suspicion in the same way as the Mayor was. As I mentioned before, this is circumstantial evidence at best. Anyone in this town had as much access to the tunnels as I did. Interestingly, when Captain Harding died, he mentioned that the tunnels were leading everywhere, suggesting that we may have missed some of the other accesses. Moreover, he mentioned that « killers » were using the tunnels, not « commie killers ». Harding was killed by a vigilante himself, not a commie. Finally, the fact that killers were using the tunnels was only revealed after the door to the General Store was opened and all of us had visited the tunnels. So basically by that time we all knew where to find the tunnels, no need to point the finger at me. The Mayor believed that the theories about Phelps he privately shared with the four of us were responsible for Phelps renewed activity. However, what he didn’t know at the time was that Valerie -- who was killed right about the same time that the Mayor was communicating with us -- Valerie Jenkins was also a commie. I would suggest that the death of a fellow commie was a better incentive for Phelps to assume a fuller role in the leadership of his crew than a potential conversation leak. Since you weren’t in Alabatha when the vote took place, allow me to explain what happened that day. I was sick away on holiday and barely followed the discussions. Shortly before the day was over I managed to chime in and said : It’s obvious that I was confused and I meant to say that Officer Harrison had been framed using his badge, as was seen at the start of that day. I didn’t have time to analyse the arguments for and against Chief Phelps so I withheld my vote. Just like you did at first when you were accused. Only after some lenghty discussion you came up with me as a scapegoat. It’s only human to attempt to defend oneself from attacks first. I have already explained that I was collecting my thoughts and I had very little time for chat. However, now I do have some further thoughts to share. All of the deaths so far can be explained by the claims of the two vigilantes or acts of god, except for the death of Valerie Jenkins. So it can be safely assumed that either the commie killer is dead or otherwise incapacitated, or that one of the vigilantes is lying. We don’t know for sure that the commies still have the means to kill. What we do know however is that they can frame. They attempted to frame Officer Harrison using his badge, and Mayor Bradford using stolen money. It cannot be denied that these appear to be night actions. So instead of looking for a commie killer that may or may not exist, I suggest that we try to find a commie framer, who has to exist. Someone who has targeted Officer Harrison on Night 2 and Mayor Bradford just before we went to the hills (Chapter 10). It's not much, but I think that if we're looking in the right direction we stand a better chance of finding the commies. -

Interesting analysis, although it looks more like someone is clutching at straws to find suspects. The Mayor did include me in a list of people who could have been responsible for Valerie's death, only because I was privy to a conversation about possible suspects. But frankly the Mayor was very active back then and a prime target regardless of what he might have said in private. The tunnels have an access beyond my farmland in a building that does not belong to me and to which I do not have access. Anyone could come and go through there without me knowing anything. And I do wear size 9 shoes, like more than half of the people present here. I asked about shoe sizes myself more than once. Anything more substantial? -
