should we add my Mammoth Tank to the MOC section?
-
Thanks Tom! That is the whole point of sharing, to get ideas from each other and use them on out own creations! Looks like you got your wish! MOC Expert Added! Thanks! You might also want to take a look at the space and mecha forum for a special project I just wrapped up! I had it at two bricks tall, but that seemed too low... they can still shoot over the wall but as you have noticed, it is quite difficult to shoot downward. The floors of the tops of the towers are removeable so instead of making the wall lower, I might just jack up the floor 1 or 2 plates! thanks for the suggestion! Though I can sense the sarcasm I would like to say I will NEVER give up on pirates!

No... not the large pics per se... normally I do some large images and then some thumbnail links to the larger ones... it wasn't working earlier today for some reason, but it is working now... it was weird, but I got it locked in. Check out the first post for the updated links.

Tired of those pesky Jellies always stealing your crystals? Is the "Claw Tank" simply not protecting your interests on the ground? Then consider the Command & Conquer inspired M1-ZC3 Mammoth Tank! Armed with twin howitzer cannons, a laser machine cannon, independent twin anti-aircraft guns with gunner, and an anti-mine and anti-obstacle flail the Mammoth Tank is the vehicle of choice for fending off alien attacks! l l l The Mammoth tank doubles as a troop transporter and is equipped with the new M2-ZC00 MRAMU (Mobile Recon Assault and Mining Unit) armed with twin surface to air missiles and mining equipment storage compartment. l l l In addition to the crew of 4, the Mammoth tank can also transport a squad of assault and recon troops! Designer Notes: I tried to design this tank to be as much like the Lego® Mars Mission theme as possible, though the number of bricks and "realistic" weapons would ensure this thing would never make it as an official Lego concept. As a result of this intent I included some stickers, some trans orange elements, trans-blue weapon tips, an alien holder chamber as well as keeping a few mining tools to keep with the theme. I guess there are other Lego sets that aren't exactly mine intensive in the Mars Mission line (i.e. the claw tank and trike) but this thing is still somewhat outside the scope of theme even though I made the tank's engine use crystals and added some mining equipment to the MRAMU. Some other features of the Mammoth Tank include a working suspension on each track, independently elevating cannons, a spot light, swiveling AA guns and opening compartments! l l l l l l l l Edit: Got the thumb links working now... wonder what was going on!?! Click the thumbnails to view the larger images! Brickshelf Folder Link: Brickshelf Folder

This is my first castle MOC I am not much of a landscaper, and I did not really pose this thing. Or what not... but I think it turned out pretty well. Folder when public Brickshelf folder

So I was checking my email and I have about 15 new reviews of Fort Brighton from MOCpages. I went to the site and it is MOD of the day! Check it out! I would like to do some more work on the rocks and what not, but it is not on the top of my list.

Finally shot some pics of the upgraded guard towers... I thought they were the weakest part. Anyways, also tried out some of the "exposed masonry" technique, I like it. First shot is the original tower, than the upgraded ones. It was dark up there, so I didn't bother pressing the bricks together for pictures or straightening out the "bricks" in the brick and mortar sections. Anyhow, either way I think it is an upgrade! A shot of the whole attic with some ships visiting the fortress

Heh- I like this post- HARRY POTTER ON!! In a somewhat unrelated message, I actually kind of like stickers because I am not a fan of some printed bricks... when was the last time someone used a an "M tron" red slope? Imperials: 6 Spanish: 3 Pirates: 2 Ghost Pirates: 1

This is partially my fault as I have not been posting as regularly as I used to. Many new members have also added some awesome creations that deserve discussion, and as a result, older creations sometime sink into the deep recesses of the forum. But we always have new members who can find old creations and revitalize discussion!! This is a good idea (I admittedly may have suggest Mr. Pegleg ask something like this but the idea to do a feature is all his). I think the Classic-pirate people have been waiting for me to either 1) finish "the Phantom" or 2) work on a web page of my own. Unfortunately, neither has come to pass, so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to just put up an older classic like this. As far as Imperial Guard ships, they are all shown in this post. The Fortune, the Adventure, the New Covenant, the Sienna, the Arbiter II, and the Phantom. I started a ship of the line, but it is on permanent hold while I re imagine the design a little. That is 6 ships in one fleet. I also have a smattering of little Spanish ships and a few of the Lego® designed pirate boats to challenge my fleet. Honestly though, I might want to consider making some more... ah... pirate-y pirate ships as well.

uh- sorry to bump this older post but.. 1) I had a PM about it as a "find" so I thought I would make it easier to locate. 2) I also redesigned the guard towers a while ago. I thought I had snapped a picture or two, but I can't find them, so I might need to snap new ones when I see her this weekend. as far other news, I finally have a "real" job so hopefully I can get back to MOCing soon. I have been working on some non-pirate, castle-y stuff, so check out the history/ adventure thread soon for a little gate house I designed!

Ambassador Nominations for Classic-Pirates.com
ZCerberus replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
My apologies... I just meant as far as MOCing. Though you have had some very good contributions as far as "System"-esque contributions to MOCing it has been fairly limited. That is all I meant. I agree that your contributions in all the other areas are extensive. As far as graphical design, moderation, organization, constructive criticism and contributions in topics other than MOCing (like Ebay postings and monitoring other topics), your contributions are unequal. You were among my three nominations, I guess I just have a slight bias towards those who have done more MOCing. If anyone thought I was saying otherwise, I apologize again, and I definitely believe Mr. Phes would be an EXCELLENT choice. -
Ambassador Nominations for Classic-Pirates.com
ZCerberus replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yikes... this one is a bit hard for me... I like the work and contributions of Bonaprte and Phred and I think I would prefer them over Mr. Phes slightly because they have done more work building MOCs and generating items for discussion and show, though I know all three are qualified. I suppose these people have already been nominated, so this is mostly just like campaigning, but I would like to second/third/forth nominations for Boney and Phred. I am sure other mentions are also good choices, but since I haven't been as active since graduating school, I am sticking with who I know and am confortable with! -
Good choices! Congrats guys!

If you every want to try to upgrade the roofs, I like the "magnetic roof" build. it is easy, everything stays at a slope, and you can remove them to stay inside.. Click me to see a magnetic roof. Here is the link to the whole "level" folder with the various roofs. Link

Very nice indeed! I like that there are several building all with their own color scheme and purpose, and yet they all still fit together nicely. I have never had a MOC make front page news, so if Phes adds yours, you should consider it quite an honor! I see that the buildings are all labeled in the title of each picture, but perhaps you would like to tell us a little about the function of each building, your reasons for adding each one and what you like about each one so we can all enjoy your MOC a little more!! A little "walking tour" of the harbor for our enjoyment! I hope you keep up the great MOCs!
-
Nice progress! Those do look like some good columns/mast on the building. I still wonder if your implementation will be strong enough when it gets taller. Maybe the folder isn't public yet or something, but when I clicked the link, all I got was a photo scooter... you might want to check on that. As for the capstans, I it looks like you are on the right track... did actual capstans rotate independently? I guess I would have though they would, but I never looked into it!

EB Pirates Episode 2 - Welcome to Port Paraiso!
ZCerberus replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Very nicely done. Those are some excellent ships! More exciting... I was told Admiral Buress (my sig fig) may be making it into episode III!! I hope there isn't as big a gap between two and three as there was between one and two! Happy Easter everyone! -
I would consider going to the PIRATE forum and looking in the MOC and Accessory Index there. Click this link to be taken to the index page. There is also an entire index of pirate ships for other ideas for your sloop. I must admit though, I think TaltosVT's swivel guns are some of the best I've seen.

I agree that natural lighting and no flash makes the best looking pictures in general, no flash does make it hard to pick up the black and also makes any movement make the pictures come out blurry. Maybe you could at least try to take a shot from a distance with the flash on and some zoom to see if it cleans up the black! Viva la Fleshies!
-
Nice work. Good interview choice!
-
The figs are great, but the lighting is not! With all the black it all kinda seems to run together! Did you turn off the flash because there was a bunch of glare or something? I think you have a light source in the photos, maybe from behind or overhead (there is a slight shadow so it is probably mostly overhead) but no flash (or else the reflection in the tiles wouldn't show up to well and the dark elements would be easier to see). No flash also makes the pics blurrier if you move the camera slightly while snapping shots. If so, what I found to work is to turn the flash on, and then back-up from the figs and then zoom in to take the pictures. That allows the pictures to be lighter and yet avoids the glare...

This is an excellent design! I think this is certainly one of the better MOCs as of late. There are some in accuracies, like the gun ports should be offset, there is no tumblehome, and the rigging should start below the rail, but at the same time, I have always liked look and feel over historical accuracy! I think you should be especially pleased with the sails and stern. They look fantastic! I did notice there is no "royal"sail (uppermost sail) on the fore mast (mast closest to the bow) if this is because sail would look too "smooshed" I would check out this building technique to extend the masts! Link is here... Extended Mast Technique Thanks for sharing this MOC!

Indiana Jones 7620/7621/7622/7623 in stores at TRU (US)
ZCerberus replied to Odie's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Good haul man! I don't think you got the prices right though. 7620 motorcycle chase is only 9.99 (10.99 at TRU) and 7622 is 29.99 (30.99 TRU). I don't know about 7623 though.
