  1. No, it's not. As I said, it's the banner background. This is (as the name suggests) behind the banner. If the banner fails to load, then all you will see is the background. Why this would happen is anyones guess; the background is the larger image and if anything failed it would seem more likely that it would. Most browsers cache the images so this shouldn't happen. Currently I'm using IE6 on a 64kbs connection and it's loading just fine. It's not "switching", it's overlayed by the banner. It's how backgrounds work. It's the same way that all those parchmenty things work in the Pirate forum. What is obviously happening is the background is loading before the banner.. and sometimes it fails. This isn't a EB problem, and it's not a big problem for you either. I wouldn't worry about it.
  2. Yes, just to clarify, this is not a EB problem. It sounds like for some reason the browser is not showing the banner, just the banner background. I'm seeing the banner as normal, even on my small screen Aspire One.
  3. Please don't deliberately miss-label a topic just to get more interest; it's really annoying and it wastes the time of other members. You might find you'll instead get interest that you don't want... (I'm also moving this to "Other Themes".)
  4. Jan Beyer (Community Development Manager for Europe) has announced the formation of a new LUG for Europe; EuroLUG. (No affiliation with Eurobricks at this stage. ) An European LEGO User Group EuroLUG is a European LEGO User Group, not a division of the LEGO Group, and will not compete with the other European LUGs. It’s founded in the spring of 2009 by 6 European AFOLs and Jan Beyer. EuroLUG is managed by a “Steering Group” (SG) – with a Chairman, a Secretary, a Treasurer, a Webmaster, 2 Ordinary Members and a LCD representative. The SG will organize the EuroLUG activities, assisted by EuroLUG members. The original SG consists of the founding members. All decisions in the SG are voted by majority. The Steering Group (Founding Members) Serge Belsack, Belgium – Chairman Verena Schaden, Austria – Secretary Thomas Wesselski, Germany – Treasurer Tobias Reichling, Germany – Webmaster Svend Erik Saksun, Denmark – Organisation Lluis Gibert Castroverde, Spain – Marketing Jan Beyer, Denmark – LCD Representative The purpose To establish a network, a workgroup and a thinktank of very active European AFOLs. (EuroLUG has not the intention to be or to do the same as the Ambassadors.) The mission Stimulate the contact between the different European LUG’s. Make local events grow around Europe. Give recommendations and guidance to local LUGs when organizing local events (support). Meet with other EuroLUG members at events around Europe and discuss about the EuroLUG projects. Establish and elaborate contacts between the local LEGO offices and the approved LUG in the area, so that local events can be coordinated (communication/media, sponsoring, etc). The members EuroLUG members are very international active AFOLs. EuroLUG members must be at least 18 years old. The ordinary members come from the various European LUGs. EuroLUG members must participate in minimum 3 events per year (of which one can be a national event) and/or organize an international event. The SG appoints new members by voting. AFOLs are also welcome to contact the SG in order to apply for membership. The membership Membership lasts as long as you fulfil the criteria for being a EuroLUG member. If a member – for certain reasons (e.g. work, family, illness) – can not fulfil the membership criteria, the SG can give a waiver for one year at the time. End of membership takes place by notifying the SG. For new members it is mandatory to buy the welcome package (€ 50,- in 2009). There is no annual fee for the membership. Communication Communication and discussions will take place during meetings at events around Europe, by email or in an enclosed forum. A website is under development. At EuroLUG events, the local LEGO employees and Country Managers can be invited to participate at the discussions. The benefits Members will get access to a network of very active AFOLs and valuable information. When joining EuroLUG, the new members will get a poloshirt with embroidered “member” and logo, the special EuroLUG brick, and the special EuroLUG minifig. Members might be offered various special LEGO related stuff during their membership. application@eurolug.eu info@eurolug.eu
  5. Welcome to EB, and thanks for your dedicated work!
  6. Yes, that probably it. I'll merge this later.
  7. It's quite easy; plug in a USB hard drive and then go to Settings > System Settings > Backup Utility. Everything non-licensed is copied. More details are here. (I still have, and use, my PS and PS2! )
  8. Yeah, I felt the same way. But I really missed it. The 360 is such a rubbish machine compared to the PS3 and after a week of being restricted to mine I gave in! (I really should finish Gears of War though!)
  9. Yes!
  10. I was lucky/smart. I backup my PS3 and PSP (you can't backup a 360) every 2 weeks. As it happened I lost 1 week of saves, but that wasn't too big a deal as I was playing Half Life 2 at the time. Uncommon. It's actually the first problem I've had with any console, but I think I've been using my PS3 a lot! I get a lot of value out of it so the repair cost was soon forgotten. I've never liked Mario... and the only Nintendo I've ever bought is the DS. Nintendo games rarely appeal to me, but lately they've had a few Square games. Is this a Sony warranty? I hope so. In my experience store warranties aren't worth the paper they are printed on...
  11. About 25 years...
  12. Index updated to cover from M:Tron 1991 to Classic Space 1986
  13. Errr.... sorry for taking so long! I gave it a 4.
  14. There's a large folder here... ...but why couldn't you just do a Brickshelf search using the magic numbers of 8038 like I did?
  15. We have noted the idea. There's no need to keep posting about it...
  16. My PS3 died a few months back. It started out resetting at random times, then it would reset after about 2 minutes.... then it wouldn't start at all. It was long out of warranty so I had to pay roughly half the price of a new console to get it fixed. What Sony do in these cases is give you a 100% different refurb console. It has a new case, and a rebuilt and re-tested board and that has a (rather pathetic) 3 month warranty. (The prices may have changed now that there is the slim version.) Thus it will work if you pay Sony. There is no need to be concerned there. They don't try to fix any console; it's a replacement service and your PS3 is sent to China where they will try to fix it and then give it to someone else... Aside from being a Wii that is.
  17. There's no "Stars" in any "Star Wars" sets either. (All jokes aside you're probably right.)
  18. As Deinonychus says, I wouldn't worry too much. They're probably just curious, and looking at the results they are barking up the wrong tree! (I edited your title.)
  19. Well I can guess what side the dog is on in the whole Red Coat vs Blue Coat rivalry...
  20. Well it's not on sale for Australians... but it isn't available anymore either. I'm not surprised though. This would have been an expensive experiment, and I suspect it was a failure. I love the part, but I have only one, and I bought it half price. I wanted it, but it seemed rather expensive to me, and since it was being stocked in a store with no other train parts, I knew the chance of it going on sale was high...
  21. Actually he said it was the "The Fastest Republic Ship In The Galaxy" so the Millenium Falcon arguably doesn't count. (It was under a different name at the time and was considerably slower.) Also, at the time the V-19 was in front-line service the ARC-170 didn't exist and the Falcon didn't receive its "special modifications" until about ten years later. As for being ugly, the ARC-170 wins that hands down.
  22. Thanks for the review! I really love this set, and the ship. A lot of Star Wars fighters seem too small for my tastes, but this (and the Magna Guard one) are comparability solid. The wing mechanism is very nicely done, as is the cockpit opening system. It's a great set for swooshing too; I love to pick it up by the center "wing" and then run around the house! My biggest complaint is that TLG chose (like a few other recent sets) to be deceptive on the box and imply that it sits flat when it actually is nose-down. A minor complaint, but I wish they wouldn't do things like that. Rare part hunters note; the damped cylinder is an old one, but this is the only one that has the spring removed. Have you noticed I've been eying off a second!
  23. Well I'm late as always, but Happy Birthday to you both... especially Lasse D!
  24. PSN: DaSinMan Currently playing: Eternal Sonata Time zone: +10 Like Home?: Yes, but it lags too much in Australia and most of the games on there are lame and just waste time, Games you've got: Loads! Valkyia Chronicles, Soul Calubur IV, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank, Prince of Persia, Devil May Cry IV, Eternal Sonata, Ridge Racer 7, Buzz, Tomb Raider Underworld, Resistance, Uncharted, Orange Box, Lego Batman + Indy, Assassin's Creed, LittleBigPlanet.... plus more that I can't remember. I must confess though that on-line gaming isn't really my thing though so why I'm replying to this topic is anyones guess!
