  1. Yeah... sometimes it seems half my posts are telling people off... For the record 20% of my posts are staff related (you obviously can't see those), so that means 30% of my posts at best are LEGO related. Thus I've only made 3000...
  2. Making a silly reply to a silly post of someone who is in the chamber isn't very smart.
  3. Told ya so! Pinned topics are very often ignored. I'll merge this.
  4. Please don't make off topic posts here.
  5. Well I do have big hands... but that wasn't what I was saying. Standard LEGO parts are designed for thousands of linking and unlinking... but some aren't. Parts like minifig hands, legs off the hips, arms off torsos and turntables will after relatively few cycles become loose and maybe even not stay together. That's partially why I said that... but it's also because they are (were in some cases) seen as a single piece by TLG. You can pull a LEGO motor apart but would it be OK to use the bare motor in a MOC? To me no, and that's how I see mini-fig hands. Other people don't, but that's their opinion.
  6. I've done that before myself...
  7. Not a prob. I'm glad that I was right and it wasn't a bug...
  8. To cut a long story short, it's because you hadn't posted for a while. Your PMs system will work now. ...as a longer version we needed to introduce a PM limitation to new joiners and to cut an boring story short we needed to "demote" all Vassals so they were the said new joiners as well. However all they needed to do was make a single post to be re-Vassaled again.
  9. By six hours too; we must have started posting at the same time but I finished mine faster...
  10. Well it's not. Please don't create new topics for relatively minor news; it's why we have set news topics for each theme. As an added bonus you can then check if another member recently posted the same news first.
  11. No. I kept some rights, but lost some key ones. I'll have to ask someone to fix it now... Sorry guys, I tried! I might give it another go later, but it seems the system doesn't want people to root in secret. He's my helper... Ignore him.
  12. "Root" is an old UNIX term that refers to having access to the root directory... which to do so you need to have full access to the system. The "root directory" is such named based on the file tree metaphor that sees directories as branches and thus the lowest level of files is "root". Thus, a "Root Admin" means that the user has all rights and/or permissions. Before I only had almost all rights and permissions... Put on a short skirt while doing so and I'll be there. I'll always be a second fiddle compared to Hinckley. It is the "Wacker and the Walrus" afterall, not vice versa. OK, OK. So now I need to go back to being Sinner the Walrus Admin to make you happy? I'll see what I can do... Dunno; could you explain a bit more?
  13. I agree... but I'm not sure if they want that; it'd really piss off the retailers.
  14. When subtlety fails... EDIT: ...and so it's re-opened. Please don't make me close it again.
  15. Welcome! I look forward to seeing your MOCs! (I moved your post here. )
  16. It's OK. I should remind you though that my head is the older type...
  17. Speaking of subtle.
  18. Does this picture excite you? If so you need to see the full 8265 review by Blakbird... if not you're obviously looking at it wrong. Look again and click anyway.
  19. This is my must-buy Technic set of the year. As you say it's a great looking model and the functionality is wonderful. Thanks for the great review! I do have one question; what's the steering like?
  20. Indeed if that's what you want. Nobody is right or wrong here, it's all just opinions. (I had a quick look at one of your movies and it looks good. I'll give one a full look later...)
  21. I could look it up, but we'd be the fun in that? (My bet is on Hinckley.)
  22. It wasn't me!
  23. Me too. My Walrus is actually a custom. But if I change something it's going to be like that for a long time! The turntables are an annoyance to me. I try to use my pre-assembled ones in preference, and I've never dissembled one. I find it especially annoying how many of the creator instructions assume the turntables are still disassembled, forcing you to work around it or break them again.
  24. Taking hands out of minifigs and using them as gun monopods, using legs as the top of cupboards, that kind of stuff. To me those pieces are broken once disassembled.
