  1. Sorry to say there's nothing that I can do. As others have said the Side Panel is actually 100% redundant so it's hardly a major issue.
  2. ...so it should be in Culture and Multimedia. I'll move it now.
  3. If people can bend the rules and class Battlestar Galactica and Stargate as Sci-Fi, I can't seen any problem with me putting Sets/MOCs based on current space craft as in the Sci-Fi forum. (This really is the best fit. Maybe we should rename the forum again; Sci-Fi and Space? ) Soonish.
  4. I'd prefer that there is no mast; I have no shortage of suitable pieces to create something similar. I see it more as a stand made to look like part of the platform rather than an attempt to actually make the platform. But I'm surprised that you see the fact that the figs can't see out as a "Creator-like" feature. Several non-creator sets are like this afterall; the SandCrawler, the AT-AT spring to mind. Yeah, I do agree here. It was a nice sub-theme, but LEGO seem to be avoiding a return to it. (Same story with divers and Paradisa.) Funnily I see one in several spots, but maybe I'm looking too hard!
  5. A few places but 4.2 Layer Masks and 4.5 Masks and Selections discuss some techniques. (I'm moving this to General. )
  6. Cool! The crawler nice too. I was planning on making one too...
  7. Indeed they did. There have been over 130 Shuttle missions... compared to 15 Apollo. The Shuttle has achieved much more too from a scientific point of view, yet it doesn't receive much respect. TIME even made a joke about it saying that the Shuttle was one of the Least Influential People of 2010. Tossers. But the last laugh is on them as regardless of their claims there was a Shuttle copy. (Talk about the Shuttle all you want until we have more news. ) A new shuttle wouldn't cost that much compared to other expenses. Considering the benefits it pays for itself. As Larry Niven once said; "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program. And if we become extinct because we don't have a space program, it'll serve us right!"
  8. The USA isn't the only manned-space-mission country in the world... and soon it won't even be one! It'll be no better than Australia; buying seats on flights! Pathetic. All US members; write to your local Congressman and complain! You've got it all wrong; you should be asking "how many space bases have room for a town?". It'll have at least a flight deck. Looking at the picture I think the bay doors open, but it's hard to be sure. In any case I'll be modding mine! Hey! Stop de-railing Space Shuttle conversation!
  9. Yes, I think the first is the best non-comic version of Batman yet. (This video is rather old news though.)
  10. There was one PoP set at my local K-Mart; The Ostrich Race 7570. As it turns out I ordered that set from S@H. (I might get another later.) But the reason why I'm posting is to say that it was $32; $2 above list. Are they doing this with all sets? This could just be a pre-sale strategy, but be aware that for now the prices could be inflated.
  11. Picky, picky, picky. Yeah I notice that straight after I created the new ranks but I was too busy to make them look the same as the others. I'll do that now. ...and I think that's fixed.
  12. I've used GIMP a bit. I did this... ...with it, and for the most part I was happy with the results. I have heard that it's easier to do fast background removals with Photoshop, but in my experience there is no fast or easy way to do a good job. I used this tutorial when learning how to do it. I found the best technique was to create an inverted image, use that as a matte, and then soften the edges.
  13. I love it! Sure some sizes are a bit wonky (the ET, External Tank, is too small for one) but it's hard to do it perfectly at this scale. I love how they included the top level of the launcher platform; it's the perfect way to display it. Any lacking in detail don't really concern me; this has all the parts needed to build a shuttle at this scale (especially the ET) and anything extra would be fun to make yourself. I'd love to make satellites to scale! As you can see here they have tried to make the stand into a simplified launch platform, but it's a bit small. Those "fairings" at the rear wing root are wrong too so I bet it has a working rear undercarriage there. I don't like the red trans pieces on the rockets; the OMS (Orbital Maneuvering System) isn't used at the same time as the SSMEs (Space Shuttle Main Engines) and... ...they burn almost clear. (The "waste" of the SSME is just water.) But that's easily fixed too! This is the set of the year! ...for you maybe! I'm stealing this set for the Sci-Fi forum!
  14. OK. So it seems my local store puts items on sale prior to other stores and doesn't make them as such. That makes no sense at all... but it does seem to be the case. Odd. Siegfried guilt factor: 80% and rising.
  15. Happy Birthday Yoda!
  16. It is looking that way but if it was that case you'd think it would be labeled as such. Siegfried guilt factor: 75% and rising.
  17. Yeah I got that too... OK, I'm starting to feel really bad...
  18. Yeah I like it too. It's a technique on my "borrow" list!
  19. Well that explains the price then; they must have had only a few. Am I the only lucky one? Sorry if I've wasted anyones time. As a FYI the Home One and AT-OT sales are over; was this just a S@H experiment? My order has already shipped!
  20. Yes. The idea is without the rim they can go around corners without excessive rail friction.
  21. There's a review of this set here.
  22. The more Polish on EB the better! Welcome!
  23. If you're lucky xenologer might answer it, but please realise that this topic have been dead for 2 years. Posting in topics that old and asking questions is rather presumptuous. I'll give the answer a shot though. He's already mentioned Stealth Hunter 7700 so I gave that a look and... ...it could be the answer.
  24. I just got back from my local K-Mart looking for PoP, no luck,... but I found better. 6754 Family Home for $23! There was only one there and it wasn't marked as being on sale but I bet that they are on sale every where! Run, don't walk, to K-Mart! Now! A $107 saving, 83% discount! That's a record for me.
