  1. Welcome to EB. I remember spotting that waterfall somewhere. Very well-built! (I'm not going to comment on the space ships as that's not really my cup-of-tea)
  2. When I saw this topic earlier today I expected it to generate some more discussion, especially among our female members. I hope they can see the humor in this as well, 'cause I certainly do. And indeed, the scenes are really well-built (and so is that minifig in the third scene ).
  3. Nice shelf design (and box printing of course). Have you built a Lego Store to go with it?
  4. This indeed is a GRAND hotel. The Bluesmobile and all the police cars are pretty neat too.
  5. This is great Dave! I seem to have missed this when you initially posted it. I like the way the bottom of the game 'cassette' (if that's the right word) turned out. Looks a lot like the pins you typically see on the bottom of those. In the second picture, the console and the controller are indiscernible from the real thing.
  6. We've had some 'promises' from TLG through it's Ambassadors (I'm not able to point you to a source right now, but I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere) that the quality issues - at least related to minifigs - should be resolved. That doesn't necessarily mean they're not being produced in China anymore, but at least there should be better quality control in place. You never know... besides: were you really going to eat them?
  7. Thanks for the insights you've given us over the past week. Just make sure you stay in touch, even if it's just by quickly checking the forum a few times a week. Looking forward to the fruits (sets!) of your hard labor. Now go design some more great Modulars and other Exclusives!
  8. Happy B-day Matn!
  9. I'm 'afraid' the other two floors will follow the 'Green Grocer' recipe, i.e. relatively bare interior, but what's in there is pretty well designed. For example, GG had a nice grandfather's clock and a radiator. I'd prefer fully furnished buildings, but that would likely drive the price up a lot, as a lot of different/specialized elements would be required.
  10. I buy the modulars as 'sets', not as parts packs, but indeed: I don't think you can get so many 'good' parts (a mix of realistic colors, doors and windows, and special elements in large quantities) for a better price elsewhere. Unless of course you know exactly what you're looking for. In that case Bricklink or PaB may be better. PaB is especially useful for elements in 'rarer' colors (since the same element costs the same in almost every color directly from TLG).
  11. Nice MOC. Not much new to comment on, because you presented both the Scania front design and the cement drum here before, but that certainly doesn't mean I don't like it. I especially like the mechanisms on the back of the drum, something that the official Lego cement mixer is really lacking. Now that I think of it, most cement trucks in The Netherlands seem to be blue and white, or at least have white in the color scheme.
  12. Funny and amazingly accurate and recognizable. Too bad the new mold for the tap piece wouldn't allow you to stick that flame in like that anymore. Open up the tap again TLG!
  13. An absolutely amazing build! The red hotel is my favorite. There's a little too much brown in the saloon for my taste (could do with a good accent color), but I really like the wooden wall technique on that one. The little train station is just... what can I say? Dark tan! Great job Kris!
  14. Justice at last! (so maybe I actually made a difference this time by awarding all my points to Erdy)
  15. Still deciding on whether to get that... Yeah, that torso is getting way overused in the farm sets, especially with it also appearing in the farm impulse this year...
  16. This looks brilliant! Really innovative work on the front of the building. And the dark green works really well. And then there's all the interior detailing...
  17. Yellow 1x3s are also used on the sign on top of the building. Notice that the mouth of the minifig head on the sign is not a 1x3 tile though, so it's not available in black yet.
  18. Congratulations all!
  19. Thanks for the first pictures of this excellent set BTT! The new overalls torso is great. And the design of the tractor is also better than the 2009 ones in my opinion (at least it's a welcome break from two similarly designed tractors in 2009). And let's not forget the lovely pigs... Oh, and those tyres were included in the Coast Guard 4 x 4. Blogged on Classic-Town.net!
  20. Finally a one-piece lid for 3 x 4 crates There have been some reassuring words from TLG voiced through the ambassadors, but we'll just have to wait and see. Hate to burst your bubble, but I think the picture is computer-rendered.

    MOC: Mario Kart

Great rendition of the Nintendo classic. I also like how you've built Mario from relatively common minifig parts, but nevertheless he's instantly recognizable. Next to being frontpaged, Shadows has also blogged your MOC on Classic-Town.net. Be sure to add a picture to our Classic-Town flickr group.
  22. Brickset has posted high-res pictures of the upcoming collectible minifigures.
  23. Yes
  24. Welcome to EB. Always good to have some reinforcements in 'Town'.
  25. Beautiful MOC MetroiD - one of my fellow bloggers - has blogged this today on Classic-Town.net. We would appreciate it if you would add a picture to our Classic-Town flickr group.
