Looks tidy again You tossed the Walrus admin

That's quite a revealing top there Iz Good that you brought your cutlass along Wonder if anyone dares to stand next to you(r sigfig) in the picture.

I thought you were done with Mexico TheBrickster But this is another really nice creation. The big doors really do the trick in making it recognizable as an arena. The minifig also works well again. If TLG would have done this, they would have come up with some nice Lego-ified posters, which is a bit too much to ask to also design for a MOC
-
Hmmm, I was going to write something sensible here, but I guess everything has been said already (nicely summarized by Svelte). - It's probably cheaper if TLG uses as little different parts per set as possible (this can result in one 1 x 8 being replaced by two 1 x 4's if they're also being used elsewhere in the model). So I DO NOT agree with the increase of building options due to more pieces. Especially in the bigger models, like the modulars, this allows the same bags being included twice. This probably drives down costs significantly. The VARIETY of pieces actually stimulates building options. There's a reason why there are no longer alternate models on the back of the boxes. - 'Internal' pieces are sometimes differently colored because of availability, but also to make them easier to spot. For example, the City Corner bus had both red and blue bricks 1 x 4 with 4 studs on the side. Only possible reason I see: to distinguish the front and back of the bus.

... which needs a tiny little update now with the new Shipyard Master rank (instead of the smaller tag), but other than that I think it's still pretty accurate.
-
Two per year is better , but unrealistic I guess. Also, I think the line would 'burn out' much faster. One per year keeps it exclusive and special in a way.

The train looks really good in all its absurdness. But I really like all the figs and accessories you've designed to go along with it.
-
Sure, I'd like to be in that as well. Please use the Town version of my sigfig as seen here.
-
Congratulations all. Have fun blogging!

While I consider myself a (classic) town fan, I also can't see myself buying classic town sets for big sums of money, which I could otherwise use to buy brand new sets or bricks. I also noticed that second-hand just doesn't give me the satisfaction I'd expect it to give me. Also, I really got to like the more detailed 6-wide trucks that have been released over the past few years. But having said that, I'm definitely charmed by the cuteness of classic (4-wide) town sets and MOCs.

I'd really like to see this. Please check the index of tutorials and make a new topic here in the Town forum.

Same here, I own the Legend version of BFF, although I own the original Guarded Inn. That's a pretty good set I also own. Don't know if it would qualify among those selected though. It has an insane* number of minifigs for the size of the set. * Insane = Good

As I said in some other topic on the same issue, Lego boats (like my 4025) used to have a 'maximum 40oC' in their instruction manuals. That would lead me to think that anything up to that temperature is 'safe' for your bricks. My mom has - at least once - washed my childhood Lego in a washing machine and if anything they grip much better than current bricks and plates.
-
I wonder who is going to read that...

I got a second-hand version of these some time ago (the exclusive merchant and the admiral are missing, but the price reflected that) and I would definitely love to have this brand new. Pristine, non-stained sails, no little bite or scratch marks... that must be satisfying. How many of these would now be left in the wild now that you've opened yours? I still think Eldorado Fortress is the best 'land based' set ever released in the Pirates theme though, but this is a really really close second!
-
I always like these set concepts that are taken to an entirely different era. Funny
-
Yeah, a post office would be way to obvious, this seems most likely to me as well... Mercy! I think we already arrived at these conclusions a few pages ago

The croissant chefs are great with their rollers and the dough. Nice job.

Welcome to EB. Glad you finally decided to join. I like the comparison shot of one of the first minifigs with one of the latest minifigs. Isn't it great that the minifig has been at the heart of so many great Lego themes for over 30 years now? I also really like the expanded version of 6372 you've built. It really has a classic town vibe to it. It deserves a topic on its own in the Town forum

Those gold 'armor' pieces look really good. Castle fans will be thrilled.

I stared at this for long too, but someone a few pages back finally made me realize it's a bad photoshop job. The 'flag' is the empty background (which isn't 'whitened' like the rest of the background), the shape is created by arches coming in from both sides, so it's an empty area behind the building covered by the floor (that extends all the way back) of the second floor. Furthermore, there's a light attached by a tap piece above the back door.

Nice. I really like the weathered look of the walls. The rusty chain and the messy, sandy 'playground' also add to this look. The inhabitants will be cramped in there...

Yes, they're also appearing in this year's Prince of Persia sets. But there sure is a generous amount of them in this set (especially in gray).
