I'm sure psychologists would have something to say about this... (making your addiction seem less severe than it really is). Just to be clear: Your posts are not irrelevant or annoying, so I'm fine with your post counts. I just think you may be the EB member to fly through the rank system at the fastest pace ever.

We should have a Fabuland forum instead of one thread in 'other themes'!

There's no elevator, but there are escalators (only up ) March release I believe.

Ah, so we're getting a post office or an Erdbeereis chain ice cream store next? But then again, how was FB foretelling GE? I don't see any clues there...

Ah, someone from the 'rest of the world' where TV shows are always a season late... I really love House. Unfortunately no new episodes are airing anymore here, not sure when a new series starts here...

Hehehe, I remember that one (must have been the contest with the longest open voting thread ). I'm guessing it will be more like the GG. With the ground floor fully detailed and the upper floors just having a few interior items. The ground floor interior uses really 'luxurious' colors, like dark red and gold. I'm willing to believe you on the working escalator TheBrickster, but from the pictures I'm still trying to figure out how the... they managed to pull that off in that amount of space. Overall, the building is really starting to grow on me. I like the - even tiny amount of - dark tan on the upper floors. Furthermore, the relative simplicity of it - like with the FB - is kind of a welcome break. Perhaps a better sequence of buildings would've been: CC - FB - GG - GE. GG is still my favorite modular (slight victory, I adore them all), so I hope Jamie will have the option to go really wild again on the next one. I'm up for some sloped-roof GG-style architectural madness again.

Hey that's weird. I was looking at the instructions of the 10040 re-release (downloaded from lego.com) and there it has 2 2x4 bricks used as the base! No wonder the topic starter nor I found it!
-
Excellent posing of the Hagrid fig, especially the first picture and the cheering pictures are really nicely done.

Given your observations in the last paragraph of your introduction you've been lurking for quite some time! EB is a really nice and friendly community, but you must know that already by now. I also remember just reading EB for quite some time, but I've never regretted signing up. Anyway: Welcome to the beginning of your active EB existence.

I guess being the first to reply here actually proves I'm addicted to Eurobricks. I'm having trouble deciding between '10+ times a day' and 'Big Cam log off'.

Hmm, I keep staring at the picture... do you think that the corner building will have a 'cutout' (like Cafe Corner) at the back or will fill the 32 x 32 base plate fully? The birds-eye view on the front of the box seems to suggest there is no 'cutout', which means more interior space. Before the pictures were released I thought they would have included an elevator, but that would have required some construction on top of the building.

From before I was even born...

Don't think so. I recently got one second hand and I remember ticking off the part list on Peeron or Bricklink (both list 6 by the way and not as 'extra pieces'). There were - as far as I remember - none of these left after the build. However, I've gone over the instructions online 5 times now and I also can't find them... who will help solve this 'mystery' (my 6285 is in storage)?

Exactly, same here, that was the set I had in mind above (although it was this type of clip, not the one above)

You should get out of the Pirates forum every once in a while

Again - like the awnings - my guess would be it's brick-built, because sticker-free - just like the use of classic smiley faces - seems to be one of the design basics of the modulars.

Considering the other modulars, the awnings are probably fully brick-built. Thanks for highlighting. I didn't even notice that as being a billboard. I thought it was some 'stamp'/marking on the picture.

Congratulations guys. Pirates sure has many different ranks. Admiral, Governor, Regulator, and now a formal rank for Shipyard Master.

I really like it. More or less what I expected. I'm really hoping it will have a detailed interior as well. The shop windows at the ground floor are really nicely done and I love the realism (nothing overly fancy) of the whole building (Green Grocer was just right still, but they shouldn't have stretched the architectural detailing much further). The only thing I dislike is the colors of the flags (the blue looks a little out of place). Svelte: how did you know, you really didn't see any pictures at the time you built your MOC? I guess now that TheBrickster has frontpaged it, it's ok to post pictures of it.

Over on LowLUG, 'Telemachus' has posted a thumbnail picture (I know, it's annoyingly small) of 10211 from a Dutch webshop's site.

OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
Rick replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh yeah , I saw this was coming up next in the index... it might finally be time for (trying to get into) my first mafia game. -
This will be a thread to watch. I like what I'm seeing so far...

Erdy - 3 Honorable mentions Svelte's one was really original and SlyOwl's one used really great building techniques. But I didn't like splitting points, because Erdy's one stood out for me...

The tables are good, however it still cuts through the aisles. It's "in between" (8403) the City car of last year (8402) and the TRU City Exclusive (8404), so it's virtually certain its not a house-building box of bricks.

Thanks!
