  1. Definitely diversity. Especially City could do with a few new faces and 'regular' torsos.
  2. You must admit it is better than cross bone clipper Seriously, this new ship and BSB are the best ships ever made by Lego (I haven't decided between the two yet). I don't like most of the classic ships because they don't have captain's cabins or decks. Only BSB and SES have cabins, but SES doesn't even have a deck.
  3. Did you even bother to check the EB frontpage? The topic is here
  4. I'm also very grateful for that myself... I can just order every Modular House as soon as it's released and I surely will make an order for this one as well almost immediately. But unfortunately this won't be the case for every AFOL. * still staring at pictures every five minutes Bonaparte: do you have the answer to my earlier question (which undoubtedly got buried in all replies so far): Was this designed after the 'call for ideas' or was this already planned?
  5. Swordfish, also to be found in the advent calendar
  6. Now if it only had bluecoats Seriously: this is a great set, with two decks, full interior detailing, realistic looking sails, working anchor, dark brown chocolate hulls , those masts also look a lot better than flextube ... (and another Brickbeard fig ). I'm really wondering whether this was already planned before the 'call for ideas' through our ambassador or whether it was developed as a result of the comments in that thread. Recently I've been considering getting one of the classic soldier ships, but I always had some hope left TLG would release an s@h exclusive soldier ship. So looks like I made the right choice not to go for the 'tiny' classic soldier ships, because - besides nostalgia value - this is so much more better.
  7. I think you have to be one... (it's all up to the staff's discretion, as everything is around here, but they're pretty fair generally ) I'm really looking forward to your ship. I hope you get to enter it in time for the competition.

I also hope we'll get another wave of City for the summer, but those release dates, some sets December/January (most Fire sets) and some in March (Airport and a Farm set), are the same as they were this year, so I have good hopes for some more City sets in the summer, like we had this year as well.
  9. Nice find, damn that pink is... pink (almost hurts my eyes). Still need to get that hair, but I bet we'll see it used a lot in the future...
  10. I always wanted those playmobil castle sets when I was little, but never got any, but they are of course even better when made out of Lego. Well done! Lego could 'learn'/'borrow'/'steal' a lot of nice ideas for sets from Playmobil.
  11. This is not a 'simple idea' , but I certainly would like someone trying. Just like cars with magnets running around a town on a track mounted below road plates, but even more fun and challenging!
  12. Happy B-day, oh mighty pirate regulator...
  13. That interior is really nice... a designer must have had quite some fun putting this set together. I think I'll pass nonetheless, €60 for Christmas decorations is a little hefty. And I've already supported TLG's creativity this month by ordering 10197.

There have been some in recent years (and even bigger) and personally I absolutely don't like them. They don't fit in with the rest of the City line, just like some of this year's bigger construction sets.

Are the 'hydraulics' on the ladder truck new pieces? They seem shorter than the existing version.

That plane indeed also looks good, it uses the same nose piece as the fire chopper, but it looks a lot better on the plane. Are you thinking 6-wide? How wide are the other 'big planes'? 8-wide? As to the question superimposed on the fire theme picture... I think the 'new big windows' are combinations of the City bus/Fire ladder front window and the taller 6-wide 'shop windows/panels'. I'd really like to see some better pics of the 'smart' and repair/utility truck now...

    * Little car looks sweet, Lego would be very emancipated if they include a male minifig with that * That set with the big fire boat is hideous and 8-wide, reminiscent of the coast guard version. In the Netherlands, sets like these go on 'discount' immediately after release and usually contain a lot of big parts. A nice exception was this year's orange truck with helicopter, which I got for €20 over here. * Haven't made up my mind yet about the repair/utility vehicle that can be seen in the airport scene. Must-haves for me so far: Little car, Octan tanker, and Pig farm. As I said, I'm not sure yet about the repair/utility truck. The fire station set is really nice (includes a cool ladder truck), but I'm afraid I have too many fire stations already. The rest of the fire sets: can't be bothered. Availability (info from Dutch site mentioned): * Fire sets, except the chopper (March) will be available mid-December * Airport sets (including Octan tanker) and farm are March 2010 releases * Repair/utility truck January (car isn't advertised yet, or did I miss it?)
  20. "Neptune Mothership". You get what 'half expected December' means, right? You get half of the bricks in the set in December and the other half in January 2010. (seriously: they'll be available half way through December)
  21. Cute little shop. There have been some ice cream shops/trucks MOCs with an cone on top. Perhaps you could think of something similar to put on top of your soda shop (like a big can or something). The red and white tiled floor is a nice touch.
  22. That was the beauty of the old lines. (With the current fantasy lines it's clear who are the goodies and the badies.) Now they messed with that retrospectively!
  23. Indeed, the shape is surprisingly accurate. The mast, sails, and rigging are really nicely done as well. I suppose it doesn't have an interior?
  24. It isn't. It illustrates your point rather nicely.
