  1. Amazing! I would have thought that such a build would collapse under its own weight! I suppose it could be possible to compute just how tall a Lego tower can be before such a thing happens. I wouldn't want to be the brick at the bottom, so much weight on my shoulders!
  2. There's not much I can add over what's already been said, but I suppose one more compliment can't hurt Very inspiring build, perfect both in its greater lines and in the minute details. Do you have any long term plans for this MOC?
  3. Thanks for the info! I'm closer to Fort Kinneard so that's the one I'll be checking out.
  4. So where can the minifigs be found in TRU, with the other Lego sets or somewhere by the check-out? Haven't got around to paying TRU a visit yet... but soon!
  5. Nice MODs! Your additions are both well designed, although I feel Green Grocer is a bit too colourful now. For Cafe Corner I think your extra floor nails it very well, the colours blend together nicely. Good work!
  6. VERY nice! Your build just looks great! Was the club logo designed with LEGO reconstruction in mind at all? Not an easy task, but you pulled it off so well!
  7. It's the second, unnumbered barcode that varies between the 16 minifigs. Hey, 10 minifigs out of 16 is not bad at all, and I'm sure many people here will be happy to trade you zombies for all those extra cheerleaders you have! Where did you manage to find your minifigs, if you don't mind my asking?
  8. True, but I want more, MORE!!! Plates and tiles was exactly what I was thinking of. Actually I didn't realise that the colour would also be used in sets outside of PoP, this is good news. I may even get over the disappearance of sand red from the active colour list, eventually
  9. Well done! Nice to see so much medium nougat, it's a lovely natural colour and I hope that there will be more PoP sets released in the future, because the part selection in this colour is relatively limited.
  10. Here I am, my first major role in a movie! In the picture I'm the one with the red trousers. Yeah, the special effects in the movie were so expensive, they had to cut on expenses somewhere...
  11. Thanks for the update! So the official line is that there are no differences in build or colour. Unless one would have early and late versions of the set to compare, it's quite difficult to prove them wrong!
  12. It looks quite good! If you're really unhappy with the eyes, you could always use stickers. A few algae, a tan plate and you can recreate the cover of the book!
  13. One way around the iPhone geek syndrom is to buy from stores where the randomness is guaranteed, ie where the buyer is not in contact with the product and has no opportunity to choose (I have Argos in the UK in mind). Then of course, if there are iPhone-equipped Argos employees setting minifigs aside in the warehouse, there's nothing to be done about THAT
  14. Wow this is an awesome project, albeit quite a difficult one too! Besides the sheer number of parts needed, the biggest problem in my view is to support the different volumes. The saucer will certainly need its own support, as the connection to the engineering hull won't stand the weight of the saucer. Moreover, the warp nacelles will be quite difficult to support from the pylons alone. The angle of the pylons and the offset connection to the nacelles will require more support than Lego alone will provide. You may wind up having the same rigidity problems as the makers of the original filming model It should be possible to use a metal frame as a skeleton around which you can build the ship, but this will require some soldering skills! In any case, I certainly don't want to put you down, I'm quite excited about your project and I hope it turns out as great as it sounds! Keep us posted!
  15. This quote from Brickset may be part of the explanation: Also, there are two instruction booklets available for download at Brickset, one dated 2004 the other 2006. If you are patient enough, you can compare the two booklets for any differences! (If you do, please post your conclusions!)
  16. Woody and Stinky Pete are now gone, Jessie + Bullseye still available together for $12, plus $2 shipping. EDIT: All minifigs are SOLD now, thanks.
  17. Thanks Rick! That's right, I don't have any PoP sets yet so I did my best with whatever was available. But I do plan to buy some eventually, so many great parts there!
  18. I see now, it's a neat system. One great thing about your method is that the space inside the articulation is realistically empty, allowing front to rear passenger access. I might try this one day, I don't have the right pieces now. Thanks for sharing!
  19. Ok I just posted my PoP contest entry in the market stall category, but could you please let me know if it fits within the contest rules? I'm not sure about the 'stall' part
  20. Persian Carpets! (174 pieces) Note: many thanks to Shadows for his custom decals that I have used for both torsoes!
  21. Excellent work! I love the job you did on the steps at the front of the bus! The articulation looks great too, is it actually flexible and how does it work? Sorry I couldn't figure it out from the photos.
  22. Superb, beautiful work, both as a large scale creation and in the minute details. The funny little sub-scenes are terrific just by themselves!
  23. Huge rant following, please just skip if you're easily offended! If I may say so, I can rarely found anything really valuable in people's signatures. I don't care about what set they reviewed, if I need to look up a review I use the convenient indexes in the relevant theme forum. I could be sometimes be interested in their personal web sites, blogs, flickr pages, facebook accounts and so on, but all that information should better be included in their profile page, just a click away. Actually most of the signature information could easily be moved over there and thus unclutter each and every post. I challenge you to show me something really useful included in a signature, that really needs to be repeated with every post and take up about 50% of the screen and bandwidth of every forum page I download? I'm not suggesting that signatures should be banned, but some people should think a little more about the usefulness of the information they publish time and again with every post. Perhaps one day I will turn 'show signatures' back on and be pleasantly surprised of the self-control of the posting members. Until then... End rant!
  24. This one, but you're already there! (on page 3)
  25. Actually, there probably should be another impulse out there also called Race 9, because you can't have a race with only one racer!
