In which set was this brick released?
Fugazi replied to Superkalle's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The only sets known to be released in 2001 in the 70xx series were Dinosaurs sets, but that can't be it. Around the same time many Alpha Team - Mission Deep Sea sets were released (eg 1426, 4789), so yours might be an obscure promotional from that time. A yellow arch piece is quite fitting for a submarine set, I guess. -
Ahaha! This is VERY disturbing, I must say. Innocence, where have you gone?
-
Ahaha! You know what they say, great minds... PS: Don't forget that you will need to pay the shipping on Bricklink too.
-
Let's see... about 3x £1.50 for bananas (on sale today £1 per pack at my local Tesco, go grab'em! ) + £2.29 shipping and some 40p for a stamp, it adds up to about the same price as Bricklink for the alien minifig... but you do get a few pieces extra, plus LOTS of bananas!

Wouldn't that come close to Miniland scale? Don't quote me on this, but perhaps Toy Story vehicles could work well with Miniland scale figures.

Well open-backed has been the standard Town/City building design for the last 30 years or so, generally speaking only Creator and Modular buildings are fully walled. You're right in that it could be modded, for instance by buying two identical sets and combining them into a bigger house with 4 walls and staircases. And welcome to Eurobricks! EDIT: that sounds kind of stupid as you've been member for longer than I am... let's just say, congrats for your first post

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
Fugazi replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
While the quality of printing and of moulding of the new minifigs seems to me to be quite good, the plastic feels different and does not convey the same perceived quality feeling. Personally I think they are using lighter ABS than in previous products. This includes the minifig accessories, which don't weigh the same as older equivalent pieces. Since (with a few exceptions, like the new zombie shovel mould) the amount of plastic seems to be unchanged, then the density of the plastic is probably lower. This lighter density materiel is probably responsible for the softer plastic feel and rougher surfaces (like in slightly dull instead of shiny). But this is all perceived quality, and I don't think it automatically means lower quality products. IF the printing is poor, IF the plastic starts to crack after a year or scratches more easily, IF the arms or legs come apart, IF the colours are off or IF reduced thickness makes for translucent parts, then we will be able to equate this production run = low quality. But for now, the only thing we can say for sure is that the plastic feels different, and it's a matter of personal preference if it's worse or better. My 2 pennies worth -
So many great entries to choose from! The top three on my list are: (1 point) Fatyankee's Abdullah and Ackbars bizarre fast food (1 point) pedro's Dhurban Indoor Bazaar (1 point) Skalldyr's Morgenland And if I could I would have given some to SuperBagel and Inconspicuous at the very least! Arghhh!

In this theme my favourites are: (1 point) Obi Wan Kenobi's Nizam's Warship: a terrific looking naval MOC, and probably the one that looks the most like an actual set! (1 point) MrPalmtree's Sultan's Palace: for a faithful recreation of a favorite game, what a good idea! (1 point) Lego-maniac's Nizam's Palace: for a colossal work, and a MOC full of wonderful details! I wished I would have more points to give away!

Very difficult choice, great entries by all! But the two (entries!) that really got me excited from the start are: (2 points) Dunjohn's Cameltraz: wonderful idea and very well adapted, lots of humor! (1 point) Sandy's Hippogrif Palace: beautiful colours, part selection and photography, I would buy this as a set anytime!

He definitely does The ski poles look good, I'm sure they'll be quite useful for MOCing too. -

Alas the beret wouldn't manage to hide the backward facing print, so it can't work here. It would have been nice though! -

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
Fugazi replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
We are really spoiled, this new series looks really good! They improved the female/male ratio a bit too, now we have 3 out of 16 instead of 2. Although the witch minifig is not really one I look forward to. Judging from Series 1, I don't suppose any minifigs of Series 2 will have back printing? Some would definitely benefit from it. I have lifeguard Pam in mind, her swimming suit will look awkward with a plain red back. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Fugazi replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
After the Games microfigs, now we have collectible nanofigs -
Oh yeah it would seem it's still the old piece, silly me.

What piece(s) did they use for the roofs of the Hogwarts towers? They're not the tiled parts used in previous versions as far as I can tell.

Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: Audience Participation
Fugazi replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh well, no cake for me! Thank you Grand Vizier Shadir, that was a most entertaining game! It really proved that I am rubbish at choosing my targets, and this is where it got me. I really look forward to the conclusion of the game, can't wait to know who the other traitors were! -
Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: Night 3
Fugazi replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Interesting idea, but I'm not sure the evidence against you is convincing enough! Oh and there's no cake left. Who the hell killed the Grand Vizier, and why? I though an innocent might want to attack him to prove that he is Nizam (and he's obviously not) but why would a Nizam want him dead? So that we get less clues? Talking about clues, 'a new figure appears, cloaked in all black and carrying a particularly nasty looking sword', surely we must know that person? A new figure like in a new minifigure? -

Yeah, I blocked you (sorry for that by the way!) -- that's why I trust you now. -

I didn't aim at Dragonator last night. I think Dragonator was a target only because he seemed well protected the night before. -
Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: Day 3

Your camel theory is interesting, but it doesn't really hold up to scrutiny. There were 6 tag winners among with us, and of them two died already: Sandy/Sandine and Peppermint_M. They had the ostrich and Dastan tags, but still ostriches were also mentioned as killing people (Peppermint_M)... and that leaves 4 camel tags, not 5. What more, Inconspicuous has a camel tag and he was proved innocent since he admitted to killing Burman, and Burman's killer didn't know whether Burman was Nizam or not. Spyder also tried to kill Burman, but he wasn't successful because he was blocked by Walter Kovacs that night, which also makes him innocent (remember the Vizier that second morning: 'you didn't even block one Nizam'...) Anyway, this was just to dispel the camel tag theory. Now let's try something else. I'll list here the people I know should be innocent, and if anyone has any reason to think they might be Nizam instead, let us know. If you don't know either way, then don't say anything. This way, we'll try to work our way through the list and pinpoint the 5 (is that even is the true number) Nizam. And I do realise that we may be fighting ourselves in vain, and that there are no Nizam at all. But what are we to do in that case than die all one by one until the truth is revealed at the very end? Ok here goes my list: Lord Arjay brickme Walter Kovacs Inconspicuous Spyder Stash2Sixx Of course there are more innocent among us, but those are the ones for which I think I have proof. I'll be waiting for your comments. -
Prince of Persia Theme Month Game: Day 3
Fugazi replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Definitely blind and hopeless it would seem Well at least we're still alive, no small feat after another night of gore! 25 of us left, and possibly 5 Nizam... they're gaining on us A possible clue: Sir Dillon's killer appears to be innocent, he thought Dillon was Nizam. So who is that killer? -

Fugazi replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Sounds lovely! Hmm... Maybe we should booby-trap your lamb to get rid of the Nizam -
I see your point, but I only meant randomness of minifig positioning in the box, not randomness of distribution of the different minifigs per box, which by now we are pretty sure is rather limited to a single pattern or two.
