[UK] Toy Story Promos in Mirror Newspaper from 17th July
Fugazi replied to Big Pete's topic in LEGO Licensed
Same here. Early bird gets the worm I suppose! Myself I didn't read the instructions carefully, I thought the sets would be available in every Tesco and such. Instead I had to go all the way to TRU (or WHSmith apparently, although this wasn't made obvious in the newspaper). It was just too much hassle and didn't even try on Sunday. Anyway I was only looking for sausage! -
Well this looks like a great parts pack, perhaps a wee bit expensive when you don't have nerdy friends to play the game with but still an interesting proposal. Please enlighten me Dunjohn, if I understand correctly there is no big green baseplate in this game, instead the game board is built on those little green plates?

Voting Tournament of Retribution Voting
Fugazi replied to Commodore Hornbricker's topic in Pirate MOCs
Ok let's see... 2 points for: 10-Capt. Thomas Foolery 1 point each: 8-Admiral Croissant 9-The Inventor 11-mcfarlandman 13-Skalldyr 14-Oky Wan Kenobi Good luck to all! -
Well this is an exciting game so far! I wonder what's going on behind the scenes, in PMs, and whether everybody is really as clueless as they seem to be in the open. Can't wait for day 4!
-
Good point, but nobody said it would be a democratic vote. I'm told that Bluecoats would get 2 votes just because they're superior.
-
Ha! That would be soooo Redcoat to vote for yourself! Shame on you!
-
Is 'delete my vote' a new feature of the board? In any case, it's a useful one! I just moved my vote from 'sets' to 'bricks' Not that I don't like minifigs or sets, but my major buying incentive are the parts rather than the whole.

Yay I died!!! I feel flattered! I'm a celebrity now! Hmm well... I will have my revenge if I make it to the second round! Good comic though!
-
Fabulous comic! Love your story! Of course it's all lies and misinformation, but very funny nonetheless!
-
Very interesting! Now I see why they chose such boring colours for 8403, they had to match the previous two sets so they all look good together! Good thinking! Thanks for all the great pics and info grogall!
-
Thanks for your comments! You're lucky, if I had any in my collection they would have been right there on the table! Hmm... we'll see about that in Part 2!
-
Lol! Yeah I'm sorry that my limited Pirate collection didn't allow me to use a better 'target' than a generic Redcoat. Next time I might use more decals to torture someone who will actually want to retaliate! Thanks for your comments! Yeah, I went for yuckyness instead of violence, it's more my style! Thanks, yes if he survives it he might smell bad for a good while! But then, aren't them Redcoats gamboling in filth all day long anyway? Well I'm not sure if the lever was a genuine mistake... we Bluecoats are very sneaky, and good actors too! As for us watching each other on the toilet, well that's just a bit of artistic license! It was easier to build the scene that way! Wow thanks! Photography was hard work. Actually I realized that making a comic is much more work and planning than I thought, so respects to all of you who churn them up every other day!

Well I counted quickly so I probably missed a stud here and there. This makes the tram roughly half longer than the coach, which is not realistic but visually acceptable considering this is just Lego. What about the bus from City Corner? Is it shorter than the coach?
-
Certainly looks like it! I wonder if the gauge (width) will match the regular train tracks?
-
I'd say 43 studs (tram) vs 28 (coach) roughly counted. I would certainly want to add some length to the tram if I buy it. Too bad the price will probably discourage me from buying two sets and building a long tram out of two short ones. Definitely agree with you on that. Add another MOD to the list!
-
Strange stuff! The instructions are worth the look, the apple top comes off with the core and seeds! I wonder where this will turn up, it doesn't exactly have a promotional set number.
-
Ok I'm back, sorry I haven't been around much lately! Here's my comic entry, probably quite mild compared to what I've been seing lately! Enjoy!

Back when EB had 129 registered members...

I wholeheartedly agree with you on all counts. What truly mystifies me is that the site is still upgraded every week with new pictures, inventories and such. Then what happens to the ones I submit? Am I sending them through the wrong channel? If people here have experience successfully sending stuff to Peeron, please let me know how you did it, because the e-mail address they provide seems like a dead end. And it's too bad, because otherwise (and despite the fact that the site is and always has been very slow), it's a wonderful tool and resource.
-
Yup, the new bigger arrow markers indicating new posts are a great improvement, much easier to spot!
-
Thanks for the slide show, it's very interesting reading for the newer members such as me! Long live Eurobricks! What I would wish for if there are any still existing, would be some screen captures from previous incarnations of EB, back to the very start? Are forum boards ever archived somewhere (like the Wayback Machine or such?) *checking* I can find one archive, but it's so very slow loading... http://web.archive.o....eurobricks.com I'm not sure if any images will ever load.
-
Yeah, I didn't say that we had reached 10000, just that the bet will certainly be won by the 21th! Sorry if I wasn't clear.
-
Isn't 21th of June the official beginning of the summer? It looks like you will have won your bet! There has been huge growth in membership in the last year, this must mean quite an increased workload for our admins. You've been doing a great job!

Thank you for the explanation, Mister Phes. True, I always felt that the Pirates Forum was slightly apart from the rest of EB, visually. I think the Classic-Pirates.com banner is what grabbed my attention most after this latest upgrade. Being a fairly new member of EB, I wasn't much aware of the Classic-Pirates.com background story. I'm glad though that in the end the Pirates Forum remained within EB, as I enjoy having easy access to the whole spectrum of LEGO interests within the same community. I'm still looking for the Duplo forum though!
-
As I just mentioned in the general forum, I absolutely love what you did with the Pirate forum look, it's refreshing, clean, classy... Good job! I'll be visiting more often than I did in the past! By the way, can someone clear up for me the relationship between EB and Classic-Pirates.com, now the forum almost looks like it's not part of EB anymore.
