Locking up his bat and ball- for threatening to take my ball and go home when a few mods were misbehaving (can I even say that?)- given by the infinitely patient ISC.
-
Agreed- we've had some great Albion builds recently. Great work guys. Blacky- where's the warehouse?
-
Great job. Love the backside. The tower with the wooden top reminds me of Ecclisiastes' builds.
-
About those windows- I agree but I only had a limited number of double convex roof slopes and Bricklink is basically out of them. It looked slightly better with them than without, so I left them in. Next build will probably use a different technique.
-
Yes, and not really. One issue with this technique is the lift arm is supposed to be 2 1/2 plates tall, but the taller you go, the less that seems to perfectly apply. I make sure to attach the corners to non-Technic pieces so the build does sit at a level (even number of plates) place. If you say the build in person, there would be little gaps on top of the Technic sections. I know you dislike that- you can only see it in one or two places on the build, but I think you are right- it does detract a little. I bet I could fill in under the gable piece on this one and hide it a bit better. The issue comes in with the lattice tiles right below the roof sections- on this build I am not sure there is any lattice stuff right under the eve- so I might be able to adjust some.

Well too bad for you, I AM greedy! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

Ah- very nicely done. It still looks ornate, but no longer busy. Great work!!

Maybe I don't need to post this in THREE spots- but oh well... Vulcan Hall -
Vulcan Hall- the Manufacturers and Engineers trade hall.
-
In the inner sanctum of Albion lies Vulcan Hall, the manufactures and engineers trade hall. Many of Avalonia's finest engineers come from the province of Mesodraconem but hone their skills at Vulcan Hall. With the threat of the Elemental mayhem, the Albion engineers, under the leadership of Alvus Hammerstrong, begin preparations on some siege equipment they hope will help hold the city. This build was done in a relatively short amount of time. I have used Tiberium Blue's Technic lift arm technique before, but this was the first time it wasn't significantly covered up. I want to do a build that felt like a more finished version of "Liberty Inn" A few more bonus shots on Flickr!

E.R.T... Classic. The colors and the dwarf shield really work here. Bravo!
-
Albion Link is up. Nice work man! I like the look of the bottom portion. I would have thought so many bricks would make it look messy, but instead it looks textured and quite nice. Bravo!

I didn't you had to join- just check it out more thoroughly. And "basically" is a little generous on CCs account. I guess it was just too good to not give it a try! We have a few cross over members- so why not add yourself to the lisr? Maybe I should go join the bandits in LCC for a change of pace. I'd like to add that Cam is totally wrong. I am trouble for sure!

That's where I got it all right. I have used it a few times but it is always obscured by something else, so this time I am letting it loose with more exposure. -

Apparently it is WIP day here in Avalonia. Albion build... still working on the tower. I have a few thoughts- we'll see how it comes out! -
Paint almost ALWAYS dries to a lighter shade. It is totally just wet. The real question is where is her paint bucket?
-
Welcome Mark- I have bumped into you on Flickr from time to time. I think you should go straight to Guilds of Historica right now!!
-
We've got friends in Avalonia!
-
Well my next build will be more traditional. I do take them outside. It was TOO sunny and windy today, so the shots were a bit dark under my out door tin shed thingy, but I didn't want to wait on it. Albion Vulcan Hall is up next!

Lord Rex, In all my travels I have never seen such a wonder as Heartlake Tower. Located in the Mystic Isles on the Island of Friendsington near the heart-shaped lake sits the blue and white beauty and its fierce Amazonian (and Avalonian) inhabitants. Throughout Historica's provinces, I have come across square, round, octagonal and even spikey towers, but this must be the first heart-shaped tower ever to be seen in all of Historica. The unusual inhabitants, flying a rainbow guild standard, also have developed a new weapon of war, the CAT-apult. Don't be fooled by the cuddle appearance of its projectiles, they are ferocious beasts than will tear your heart out in your sleep. What's more, I am highly troubled by the lack of male figures on the island. I fear they eat the men for food with their tea and keep their hats as trophies or inventory in their roadside hat store. On thing is certain about the residents of Friendsington, they sure are industrious! Your loyal servant, Trian Burress Flickr Set This was fun, but after I decided to do it in medium blue, some of the options dried up. Like the towers at Brickworld, this build is 24 x 24 on the base. The wind was blowing when I tried to take these, so I ditch the nice clean background for the dirty stucco. Oh well! Heartlake Tower is taller than all the other towers in my Historica collection- save for Avalonia.

Good hint Doc!

Thank you! I had a lot of fun with it. After challenge 4 voting wraps, perhaps I can share a video of the internals of the build.

OHHHH.... 5th GUILD mini challenge, not Challenge 5. My bad. Let's go Avalonia! Let's get a master story teller to take it!
