  2. "Daxus? This is revolting. Your desecrating human remains is beyond despicable." Galen rummages through his belongings nervously. "Great, now was the perfect time to run out of Nostrums. I guess this will be a clean fight then... well mostly."
  3. "Somehow I doubt that either of us will survive. But I appreciate your offer nonetheless."
  4. Galen takes Rome's weapons from Sylph, eyeing The Regret warily. He half-expected the old Progg to object to this. The cold wind was chilling him to the bone, and in an attempt to warm up his blood Galen drank through stiff lips a Mead and a Soma. "I wonder what he would have done with us had we all joined him", he chuckles to himself.
  5. "I was wrong about you, you are mad. And now I know why, unsurprisingly your mind didn't withstand the torture your soul was inflicted. To think that you did it all on your own -- not that I don't understand, I may have done the same in your position. Strange irony that you had to die in order to survive. I pity the Progg people who now only have you as a leader. The dead are worth nothing to me, Regret. Only the living matter. If my sister is dead, I would love to reach out to her, figure out what happened, tell her good-bye. But in the end, she would still be dead. I couldn't bring her back. And if she's alive, this deal with the devil wouldn't help me. I will find her on my own, somehow. Let go of Romulus, you twisted monster, he doesn't know what he's doing. You don't need him, and he doesn't need you."
  6. Galen was appalled at The Regret's offer. Granted, the only reason he ever joined Heroica was to obtain the means to find his sister. So now that he had money and better equipment, perhaps that turning on other heroes wouldn't be so terrible -- he would have the information he needed and he could go his own way, assuming that she was still alive. It was perhaps the only chance to get a definite answer to the question tormenting him since that terrible day two years ago. But he didn't feel that The Regret could be trusted. He only wanted to play with them, and in the end no human mattered to him. If Galen sided with this monster against the other heroes, The Regret would probably just kill him when the battle was over. The carrot was illusory, there was only a stick. And it looked like Romulus was struggling with his own dilemma. "Romulus, I know what you must be going through. But don't do this. It's not too late to change your mind. As long as the Regret is alive, you will never be safe. Even if you survive this battle, he will want you dead like every other humanoid on this world. Don't listen to his poisoned words, he's toying with us all."

  9. Galen stood motionless, frozen by the cold draughts and the sad horror of The Regret's story. After a long awkward silence, he spoke. "I gather that there is no way to reverse the effects of an Animutilav spell, or you would have found out about it. Besides, your special relationship with the dead must be... useful to you in some ways. So what now? You want us dead with the rest of our miserable race, we want you to go away and never threaten Eubric again. I guess our objectives are incompatible, but if you wanted us dead we would probably already be. What do you want from us?"
  10. "Lucky I wouldn't say... but he is the heir, after all. What will become of him? He's a mere baby and you hold the power. Or should I wait for the rest of your story before jumping to the conclusion?"
  11. Galen managed to produce some sounds again. "But... Aquos, Rhodus, Eidolon... they must have had children with your descendants. Aren't the lineages mixed now?"
  12. Galen had a fleeting thought for Beatrice and how she was forced to bear Aquos's progeny. Since Eve gave only birth to three boys, perhaps they were in turn forced to impregnate their mother, or some other barbaric breeding program. If Proggs were only raised as slaves, such procedures were probably regarded as inconsequential by their masters. Where did The Regret fit in? But no matter how hard he tried, Galen was shivering too much to be able to speak up his thoughts.
  13. "Punii, I have a feeling that we're not in Luosh any more." Through frozen lips, Galen managed to mutter some of his thoughts. "This is much better than a lecture though. Hands on experience. Let's find out what brought the invasion of Uland, why humanity deserved to be wiped off the face of Olegaia."
  14. Yes, this was posted before so I will merge the threads.
  15. "Right, then I will buy Smelling Salts, a Remedy, Soma, a Phoenix Essence, Deadly Venom, Plague Venom and while I'm at it 2x Trial Brews. That will cost 35+14+55+75+50+180+160=569 gold."
  16. "I couldn't wish for anything better, Beatrice! We're all mentally and physically exhausted, and we can't do this much longer. I'm longing for a good meal in good company, and leaving this nightmare behind. Tomorrow will be a brighter day for sure, and we will celebrate!"
  17. Galen smiled at Beatrice. After the gruelling day he had had, the sound of her voice and the sight of her fit body made Galen feel lighter. "Is the Regret really going to fight us? We don't stand a chance. Somehow I expected more cruel games. But better safe than sorry, we probably should equip ourselves anyway. I guess we should decide who gets what beforehand, as there are limited supplies."
  18. OoC: Sorry guys, I was in meetings all day and no time to log in. Thanks for waiting for me! Galen felt small in front of the grey Progg, but not in any immediate danger. The Regret was not a mad creature like the Emperor. Probably haughty and full of himself like all the others, but not mad. "You... you don't make sense. I though that you were Prometheus. Did you commit suicide? Is your past life what you regret? And you mentioned a price. I doubt that you would need money, so what would it take for you to help me answer the only question that matters to me? Is saving your people from the madness of their leaders not good enough for you?"
  19. I'm having a crazy busy day but I will comment on your concerns as soon as possible.
  20. Because we could communicate more freely. Because we could discuss night results. Because we could actually use night results to actually inform our lynches. Instead, we have barely anything to go on, and we have to wait for the Masons to figure things out. But you dissected my statement, for I also mentioned that it would also make scum's lives easier, and that wasn't a trade-off I was prepared to make. There's saying in my country: One doesn't teach an old monkey to make faces. I know the drill, and that's exactly what I did yesterday. Unconvinced by the evidence against Li'l Trumpet, I came up with a different name. But I had a hunch. It's still there, but I won't bother repeating my vote as I have nothing to add to yesterday's statement and there have been no other scummy tells from Li'l Nightshround. As for other suggestions, I have none and it's not for lack of going over the threads. So there, I'm going with the group because I don't see a better option right now. And I'm going to have a nap too, so I don't want the day to close without having voted. See above. It would just be a normal game without the added complications of trying to prevent a merge. But it would also give rise to a super-powerful scum team, therefore it must be avoided at all costs.
  21. It could be, I'm not sure I understand the meaning of this statement but perhaps scum can. Of course, by highlighting a potential hidden message you're making sure that scum notice it too, but I guess there's no other way to play this. Before I'm asked about it, I'm voting for Scouty even though I don't believe he's scum because 1) Voting is mandatory and I don't have a better idea at the moment; and 2) Given the tenuous lines of evidence both pro and against Scouty, I'm keeping in mind that my gut feeling could be misplaced.
  22. Ah the fun. If he's town and tries now, then scum will think that he's town, the town will still lynch him thinking that he's scum, and his life would be truly wasted. But it's probably too late for him to try anyway. I presume that scum would need to figure out if they can trust each other before doing whatever they must do to reunite, and there's little time left to make up their minds before the lynch is effective. See above, I'm only saying that this is in my opinion what he would have done had he been scum, and therefore I don't think he is. Actually, the merge would make our lives much easier, but scums' lives easier too so I'm not willing to concede them anything. I didn't follow EB I so I'm sorry if I'm being boring. Well I guess that I will just throw in my vote and wait for something to happen... Vote: Li'l Scouty
  23. It would be a long shot, but wouldn't it be better than nothing? At least it would keep us entertained. A townie would probably be less motivated than a scum at this point to pull out a sting that already failed. I think.
