Yeah... Merman... hmmm... well I tried a mermaid on the Arbiter II. It is part minifig though and I wouldn't say it is awesome or anything... Is there a shirtless minifig torso with some massive ab mussels? You should also use the long Professor Dumbledore for hair! Well as it turns out the best torso is the same Harry Potter one...

Nice head on top indeed... Enough about Johnny Thunder, what about the Islander with the sun glasses on the right?!? Now he is cool!
-
Sounds fun! Keep us updated!

Well 16 per side on the bottom in non-moc cannons = 32 13 of MOC cannons on each side on the main deck = 26 2 chasers on the bottom deck = 2 there are also going to be 8 guns on the fore and stern castles, but they are just little guns. 60 on the gun and main deck + 8 little guys on the fore and stern castle.

It indeed does look like a drop ship. I am curious to see the big drilling machine though, I saw a picture of the actual version somewhere and it looks stellar! I bet you wouldn't mind reviewing that one Yoda!

I already voted in this poll. I hope I vote Red and Dk Gray ala Arbiter II style!

I will take playability and look over accuracy every day of the week and twice on Sundays! The only problem was that towards the end of the pirate series they went with playability over reality AND looks. The ships were just too colorful and gaudy looking and they started skimping on accessories. I think they are getting much better now at get back into making things look good, have enough accessories and still be playable. A good example I think would be the new castle theme.

Yeah? The one at MOA is the only one even CLOSE to my house, after that it is hours of driving. I would guess there is nothing west of here until California or somewhere. But 3 NW of Chicago eh... hmmm... that is a lot for a single area!
-
Yes I am, except I ran out of them, so I have to wait a day for a small bricklink order to get back on it. Edit: err... I didn't read that right... ah thought you said tiLes... heehee... Let's try again! Thanks Phes, I am trying not to let ya'll down since I was given a title! Well I am actually running out of pieces 8-( As you can see from the lengthened pics, the stern isn't done cause I ran out of black bricks, and the midsection isn't done because I ran out of black plates! When I started this project my local Pick-a-Brick had a bin full of black 4 x 8 plates and a bin full of red 4 x 8 plates. I bought t ton of them and I used them all on this ship. There must be at least 200 4 x 8 plates on this guy! Thank you fender. The Arbiter II and the Phantom are in two different locals, so no comparisons now. I think the width and the height of the Phantom are going to be the differences. Lengthwise, they may be somewhat closer! I also need to finish and snap a few pictures of Fort Brighton. Check that out sometime if you are interested!

I thought if anyone would enjoy a PotC reference it would be you! Anyhow, little update. I have begun to stretch the ship, but then I ran out of plates and tiles :'-( Here is length check! I also reworked the stern. it is much better now! The other update is the removable deck above the stern to see inside the captain's cabin! The rear section has to fold down to get the decking out. the rear piece was getting to heavy to stay on its own, so I do what I always do... It wouldn't be a ZCerberus creation without a few magnets!

Yes to the first, yes to the second, but only so long as we keep to the shallows. Umm... I am hoping that when you say "ugly" you mean scary or frightening or something!! I don't actually know any Latin... I think Norrington does because he said he was going to a catholic school. I just looked up some latin phrases and that was the one I liked. Well I live close to the Lego Imagination Center so I got the lettered tiles from a key chain set from there. Many of the tiles were Bricklinked. Luckily I already had a bunch of x6 and x8 tiles, because they are a little expensive!! All the other ships are still built. If I build more ships though I am going to have to change color schemes soon! That reminds me, I need to finish the other fortress section for Brighton.
-
Yeah.... it is Latin. it should read A Deo et rege, but since I have no lowercase letters it is A DEO ET REGE which means "From God and the King" I am running so low on piece though that I think the back looks kinda bad. I am trying to figure some else out for it!
-
Thanks Captain... but the Stern is getting whooped by the ForeCastle, so I need to do some redesigning! I will keep you all apprised of the progress!!
-
This is a pretty good idea Phred! I have kinda been making my own Lego ilets though for some time... If you look in this photo were the sail is attached you will see my solution... And this is all you see from the front side... where the Front sail is attached with the same method. I use one of these on the front... and this guy on the back...

Yes very nice customs! I think it is a little easier to make customs with Pirates since they don't need any sort of uniform dress. I think the trick with Pirates then is to make them all look different. That you have certainly done!! I like how you managed to make them all unique using pieces from all kinds of themes!

Welcome Fender! This is very nice for an introductory ship!! I like the detailing on the stern from behind. The red shutters don't quite fit, but I can understand having them there when you are missing 2 latticed panes (there appears to be a one latticed pane in each window)! I also like the chasers low on the stern and the side windows on the cabin! If you keep MOCing I anticipate your skills will only improve as will your ships! Again welcome to EB!! If you want feed back anything in particular let us know! and check out the recently moved sail tutorial for sail making if that is the next step!! It is located now in the great library of Honduras, or just follow this link by clicking on the photo!!
-
Nice detailing! I am terrible at small ships, so I think this ship is awesome! I like the scorpion figurehead and the fact that you used the new mast piece!! Welcome to EB and keep MOCing!!

So Tiber says me ship is 'fat' and 'stubby'... I don't know what he is talking about, looks sleek to me! Okay, so that was a joke. Onto small update... You can see the length here... I think Tiber might be right, it seems about 12 studs to short to me know... I think I will stretch when I can get some pieces! Here is some creepy winding stairs I tried to add because striaght stairs would take up too much room. They are kinda cool, but a mini fig couldn't really walk up them or anything. Here is the stern from behind. I am not yet happy with it, but because I am running out of piece (hence the reason the quarter deck isn't done), I have to wait for a BL order.
-
I also commented on this. It looks to me like there is a towball on the underside of the door as well as the curved top. My guess would be the towball gets pushed as the mechanism comes out and opens the door and lifts it over the droid rack.
-
Go right ahead and steal from me! that is the point of sharing after all! I came up with this solution after trying to figure out haw to jam a black fence part in there... then I said... "Hmm... I wonder if the shutter hanger and the windows are the same height!"... I looked at the window and saw that they were. They obviously won't work as shutters over the current window panes, but they work quite nicely as sloped windows!
-
Even a pirate has to step out of his piratey land sometimes! The parts are from all kinds of sets... I think there are parts from two Lego AT-ST sets, a snow speeder or 2 and the old mini Star Destroyer. There are also other various parts I needed, like the springs and the 'hip joint'. It cannot stand by itself, but the legs are fairly pose-able, so that is a big plus!
-
A quick update... I am off to the library to study for my final... a final ;-) I did some stern redesigning, but I am short a few pieces still. I am still working on it... but I added some windows... I am going to withhold judgment until I have the cabin walls completed!
-
Since I am a Pirate ( no, not a space pirate) I didn't really know where this thing should go... so some admin feel free to move it! Okay, so I have this AT-ST. It has some issues... it is not to scale, it uses both old light gray and light bluish gray as well as old dark gray and bluish gray... But since it is sitting around, I thought I would snap a few shots anyways just because. Though it is not super playable, I did add this cargo hold thingy to the back. The cockpit... the little hatch up top opens... but when the front is hinged there isn't much point in trying to take pictures through the little hole... And a shot of the legs Like I said... I need a scale check, cause it is a little bigger than it should be! Here you can tell how multi-colored it is |-/ Anyhow, I think I am going to stick to pirates, but I thought I would share!
-
Hey Yoda... you said you have to remember to open the front door when turning the knob to extend the droid rack... to me it looks like there is a tow ball on the door and a curved top on the rack. I would guess that will guide the door open as the rack pushes against it. I think you need to try that out and see if that was actually what Lego intended!
-
My good reason = neglect :'-( Wither people have nothing to say, or no one is really all that into it. As am I. I think once they get high enough to reach a mast platform, I may switch over the the standard Lego masts! Thank you sir! I may need it! Well I try boney! Maybe I should start taking the pics during the day so they are easier to see! I also need to do a massive redesign on the stern... it appears this is going to be quite a challenge!!
