Well just to let ya'll know I am still working on things, here is the proof! I still need to do some work on it though. I am planning on redesigning the tower at the stockade (if not the whole stockade itself!), lengthening the dock sections coming off the small fortress section, and since they don't match as well as the used to, redesigning or doing something to the little guard houses at the ends of the two middle dock sections. I also think I should lengthen the gap between the larger fortress and the armory so the main tower lines up horizontally with the tower on the smaller fortress section. For picture taking purposes I also need to move the harbor against a different wall, add some cannons and troops, and set up a backdrop and take some pictures during the day. Anyhow, some WIP pics of the progress!

That is a very good question. I am using some ordinary sailors and some Marines with Custom torsos now, so I am at about my limit. I can tell you I plan to have at least 20 marines or so, 35 ordinary sailors, and then the guards/soldiers themselves... I am not sure I could say how many with any certainty. I might offer some guesses... Ships... The Fortune... 1 captain (gov. torso), 1 blue coat, 1 red soldier The Adventrue 1 captain, 1 blue coat, 1 red coat soldier The Sienna 1 captain, 1 blue coat, 11 red coats (I think) The New Covenant 1 captain, 1 blue coat, 9 red coat soldiers (or so) The Arbiter II 1 captain, 1 blue coat, 12 sailors (?), 15 red coat soldiers (or so) Phantom 1 blue coat, 2 captains, 15-20 sailors, 15-20 marines (?) 8-9 red coats. These are all guesses though! Fortresses... Fort Brighton 2 captains, 1 blue coat captain, 2 blue coat soldiers, ?? red coats (25 maybe?)

Well you live with what you live with! I had to roll the cloth under some bricks in order for it to stay in place. It was nice and sunny the day I took them (Sunday maybe?) but a rather windy. The sails were blown around a bit as well, but the photo were better than the ones I had! True story about editing the wrinkles out though. the ones where the two sections meet are the worst, but I will deal with it! Anyhow, I don't think I will be editing all that many of the photos anyhow. Many will probably stay as is! At any rate, it is much better than trying to remove grass and trees though, plus it naturally kinda of resembles sky and water, so that is a bonus!

I know what ya'll are thinking, Z, please stop showing us OLD ships! Well I will, but here is the photo series from which the edited photo came. They are quite lovely I think! Outside picture taking? Yes please!! The overview... And some detailing shots! And then one with the Covenant for good measure!

Yeah thanks. I'll let you know if we make any progress! At least you know why I thought I might need some new shots *wink* *wink*

Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End MOCs and Vignettes!
ZCerberus replied to SirNadroj's topic in Pirate MOCs
Very nice! I like the Singapore Vig and the ship the best! Nice detailing and easily recognizable. Good work!! -
This is very good work! I like the church and the open roofed store house thingy the best. I think there are a lot of great ideas in here for future MOCs. Excellent work!! MOC it up!

I don't think it is really worth creating a new thread for a ship that was finished months ago. Especially since the final images are already posted in the thread!

We take Pirate fans of all experiences and collections! Hope to see you in our MOC forum soon! Welcome to EB!!

You may wonder why I am posting in all these old threads when I SHOULD be finishing the Phantom or fully assembling Fort Brighton. Well you've got me there, but since I visit my parents' house so rarely, I thought I should snap a few pictures of the ships NOT in my possession at my apartment. I shot them outside since boneparte's turned out so nicely. His ships use the same red/black color scheme as mine. I shot them in the shade of a large semi-trailer so there were no shadows. They are really nice photos, and the all blue background may assist me in trying to once again exercise my photoshop skills!! So some new shots of the old ship! I think it looks much nicer with some light on it!

Oh, I didn't realize he said both!
-
Well if you think it looks better than the current one... what if we use the one boney edited? I placed that on in my brickshelf folder myself. here that one is...

Isn't the Norrington line that said pirates will receive "a short DROP and a sudden stop"? that sounds better and rhymes and what not! Anyhow, nice little comic!

Yes to the first, more yes to the second

Pirates is the place to be! Don't worry we have many users in the same boat as you... Just started collecting Pirates (sadly after they have been finished by TLG (The LEGO

This may seem a little weird since this thread has been idle for a while, but I retook some pictures of some of my ships for a special project I hope to be undertaking soon. As part of the project, I am trying to hone my photoshop type skills. Here is my first attempt, so I thought I would share it. It isn't exactly perfect, but I was doing on my brothers computer and he was trying to go to bed, so I stopped when it was decent! Too bad I won't have Bryce at home :'-(
-
I may have assisted. Good job Duke! Anyways, I thought I should say something about the ship itself! I see a capstan, some swivel guns, two decks and a nice stern castle there. This is a great second MOC! I would still advocated sloping in the back as I suggested in the Indi thread. Keep up the good work and keep us appraised of your progress!

We can also do Thumbnail links too! Looks like I have managed to guess your naming scheme! You can learn about how to do thumbnails in posts by clicking this underlined, bolded text!

Yes, apparently *y*

The sudden "it's because Americans are lazy" bit that caught my attention! And because I am much more diligent in the the MOC forum.

WIP threads and threads with pictures will increase traffic 9 fold. Look at the L'Orient WIP thread, and the L'Orient finished thread! Good advice Phes.

The United States is such a large a diverse country that there are definitely different dialects and accents in the US. East Coast and West coast, north and south, Midwest, New England... all have there own things. Some call soft drinks "pop" while other say "soda" and even others call every kind of soft drink a "coke", some say "mom" some say "mum", some say "dad" some say "papa" and some say "pa" for father... it is all regional. We say "pop," "mom" and "dad" in Minnesota, but even as close as eastern Wisconsin and Michigan it becomes "soda" and "papa". That is just how it is. The US did attempt to differentiate themselves from England with some of their spellings following the American revolutionary war... It was a very conscious effort at first, but now it is just how it has always been. Part of the fallout from this attempt to be non-British is the reason Americans spell the following words differently than other English speaking countries... "color", "neighbor", "gray", and "check". As a result of both time, culture, and perhaps even design to be seen as different, an "American English" has developed, but even within the united States, there are certainly dialects. I sometimes can't even understand everything a person from the South might say, I guess I am just not used to the "Southern drawl"! As for the poll... I obviously voted long ago for the Pirates, so Pirates ON!

More yellow!! It that appears to be one of your Favorites! British ships were blue and yellow so it is a good choice. I would try to save your photos in .jpeg format so they can be posted right in the threads. As for the ship, the back seems a little to square. You may want to try to slope it in a bit like you did at the front. A technique to try would be to build it the same way as the front, but make the number of studs before indenting again larger than you did in the front. Will you be making a new thread for this MOC?

POTC 3 - From a Pirate LEGO Fanatics Perspective
ZCerberus replied to hans-thegreat's topic in LEGO Pirates
I was very careful not to give anything important away!! But if I ruined the movie for everyone but saying that there were many a deal going on in the movie, I apologize. I edited the above post adding spoiler alerts in recognition of your concerns. Thanks Scouts. -
I'm glad you like it. The original Fort Brighton... titled something like "Imperial Harbor" here in this forum was my first foray into sharing my Pirate MOCs. It was received rather well and after getting some help from many of the regulars here, it has blossomed into a rather large MOC. These two sections will be connected to a stockade, two large doc sections, and a store house soon. Hopefully it will be pretty swank. In other news, to get the cannons for the lower section on the two fortresses, I am going to replace some of the cannons on some of my ships with MOC cannons. The cannons being replaced are the cannons on the upper deck of the Venganza, the Cannons on the upper deck of the Arbiter II and the cannons on the Sienna. With the smaller MOC cannons, I intended to place guns on both sides of the Sienna now. I will get some photos Monday or Tuesday!
