One of them does look familiar, the other one less so I would say. No, I was working on Fort Brighton, which needs an index update from you m'man Well you'll have to ask Norrington, that is his schtick!!
-
No idea... pretty much all my white ones and most of my yellow ones... Who knows!?! Yeah? Well they used to be too small, and I agree, now I think they are too big, I guess I need to try to get something in the middle. Ohhhh! Well they were blue, just not Lego blue! eh? What else do you have in mind?
-
Thanks Everyone. Now I have to find some place to put it! Yes they have. The old ones just didn't fit anymore! I am not sure I love the little roofs on them, but they are an odd number of bricks wide across the top, so I couldn't do a pretty arch. Oh well! This sounds quite interesting. Perhaps though it would be better to do when I have returned this fort to its normal resting place and all my other MOCs are close at hand! I let you know when that happens! Yes if only I had more blue base plates! As you might imagine, I sort of used them all up ;-) Send a few if you dare. But beware the protection fleet! EDIT: I suppose we should also update the link and photo in the index. I think the first picture here is the best for the job. I would wonder now if this MOC should be considered "military" and not "harbor". It is up to Phred (the apprentice) or the GLOBAL MOD (when did that happen?) bonaparte though, since they are the indexers around here!
-
Could one of the mods please rename the thread saying it is a WIP thread? Also, I deleted some pics from the old folder, so if there are broken links, go view the completed fort and you will feel much better! The Completed Fort Brighton EDIT: Thanks bonaparte

Well I need to upload a ton of pictures, which I hope to do soon. I need to batch resize them all, but since my main computer machine is broken, I have to download the program again and do that on my backup machine. Hopefully I can get to it soon. Until then, some pictures to wet the ol' appetite. And the Layers exposed... I have plenty of detailed pictures, so hopefully I can get those up once I have the program installed on my backup computer!

Ah shoot, I can't believe I didn't check the link. It is fixed above. In case you need it again... Adding the sails discussion -
MOC Black Pearl-lite rev2 with building INSTRUCTIONS!!!
ZCerberus replied to RTN LNA's topic in Pirate MOCs
Kurt ( RNA ) actually explained how he added the sails earlier in the thread when Phes asked him essentially the same question. Here is the link to the post where he discusses it... I have no idea what he is saying, buy maybe you will understand it! Thread with Sails discussion! -
F.Y.I. I think whenever you are referring to a post or that contains a photo or a link to a folder on another webpage or even in a post that is several post above the current post, you should put a link in the post to the folder and image too! I will do that for your convenience here. And here is a link to the gallery Brickshelf Folder As for the MOC. I think you are right, the main mast's sail do appear to be a lot larger. The main sail (also known as courses) may be a little too low as well. I might also make the sails on the rear of the ship a little bigger. Maybe make the yardarms on the lateen rigged sails (triangular sails) more vertical so the sails could be "longer" and fuller looking. It is a good job for a first attempt though, I definitely had some issues the first time I tried to make sails. Here was my first and second attempts at sails on the Arbiter II. As you can tell practice always seems to make the work go more smoothly. Click the links to see the differences if you find it useful...

Yeah... I don't have a lot of blue torsos in the governor variety though. I think I only have one and he is being used for a Governor figure. I suppose I could print one and put it on a white torso though. maybe after my computer gets fixed I can print one up!

A ship-of-the-line would need to slope in as the ship gets taller in order to stay stable. That slope would be much greater than the slope on this ship. This would mean I would need to increase the beam width by at least another 12 studs to add another gun deck. I just don't have the bricks for a ship-of-the-line like that! Running out the door here... I started to work on the rigging and spars. Here is the progress The yarn might be a little too thick for the ropes, but we'll see when I get more done how it looks! I have also changed figureheads. And here is the evil pirate of my universe... no, not Phred... The other Pirate, La Tortuga Oscura! He is a little blurry, oh well! Talk to ya'll later!

Ahh!! I thought it was indeed Teach's ship that inspired you! I wonder this in your 'customs' post! Why has no mention the ACTUAL Blackbeard Jolly Roger you are flying? Very nice! indeed! Here it is so you need not flip back a page! It also appears you have use a thin foam or sorts for the sails, they also look quite excellent! You better get the ship out of storage ASAP! We need a few pirate-y pirate vessels around here after all! Anyhow, nice ship!

I don't particularly love the 4+ hull, though many have worked quite well with it. What they really need is a 20+ wide stud hull *y* Never gunna happen!

Okay first of of all several countries have "States", it is just that the United States actually uses the word states in its name! Mr. Tiber, you COULD have been correct when you said you thought he was German as Germany does indeed have "states". Land-lock states in the west doesn't give TOO much information indeed, as there are only three "Western" states that border the ocean, and if you consider Texas a western states, then one that borders the gulf of Mexico! This still leaves Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona if we don't consider anything east of Texas a western states. Then again if your measure stick is the Mississippi River then we have a dozen more states to add to the list! (If your from Iowa or North Dakota, I apologize :-D ) Anyhow, onto the MOCs, these are good torso! Mosana has inspired another! I may also have to use the Surgeon or cook torso as it looks quite excellent (though I will need to fix my computer that is attached to the printer first :'-( ) Which pirate sailed with the Queen Anne's Revenge? Was it Teach? Was it Roberts? I thought it was Teach for some reason. Anyhow, I never really knew much about that ship itself, other than that I thought it was rather large for a pirate vessel, so it is interesting that you did some research! If you get some more torso, make sure to keep posting and sharing!

The green/teal is pretty good. You sure did have a lot of brown minifig heads!! Nice decking as well. Add some sails and you will have a fine ship indeed!! Post 700! How cool am I?

From what part of Indonesia do you hale? I know very little about Indonesia besides that the country is made up of several islands, and despite the relatively small land mass, it is one of the largest countries in terms of population in the world! You have a nice collection of blue coats here! I prefer the red guys myself, but this is the start of a grand army! Welcome to our forum!

I wonder if they even tried! I heard they were trying to veer away from themes based on movies or other's intellectual property, so perhaps they already knew it was a no go several years ago! At any right, I am enjoying the new recruits we have gotten lately, you have all been doing a good job of contributing and MOCing! This is a nice ship. I like that everyone is branching out into different hulls in order to try to get some new fresh designs! Some other comments, the stern castle is definately too tall for its length, but you can't really do much expansion with that hull. I might also make the masts taller if at all possible. At any rate, keep up the good work!

Some of us are not from Europe, but still a long ways from Boston. Phred is from Wisconsin, and I am from Minnesota. There are other midwesterners and west coast people too, but there is an American presence even on Eurobricks! I do recall someone even telling me they were from Ohio or Indiana a few months ago! I would some day like to see the Constitution, but I have never been north of New York on the East Coast!

MLCAD Submodel Tutorial
ZCerberus replied to ZCerberus's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I thought it was linked already. Sorry I have been neglecting ya'll. My computer went haywire yesterday... New motherboard is looking likely... *sigh* -
I believe this one will be a Toys R'US exclusive, so watch for them there. I am sure it will eventually be on S@H

Ahh! Well there is an archway there and there are some stairs there that go down into the stockade, but the arch is one brick too low or so. When I am redoing the tower in that section, I am going to raise the arch a stud or two so it won't look like it just ends, hopefully!
-
I am guessing Phred updated this picture in the Index as well, so Thanks Phred, if it was boney, then thanks to boney instead!!
-
I am not sure I know what you mean... Could you explain, because there is some possibility that some of the things on here do indeed need rebuilding! Well I am upgrading some more sections to the the whole thing to fit together a little more. Currently working on the front guard towers, moving next onto the tower on the stockade, then stretching the distance between the big fort and the armory by 16 studs (I think), and finally moving and upgrading the two cranes on the main docks. There's still time!
-
Thanks Phred!!
-
I would do it the way you did it here. The 1x1 slope isn't quite tall enough to look as good! The 1x1 slope is a great piece though. I have used them in several builds.
-
I think Phred put in that request, not me! But thanks for the British Marine you did for me a few weeks ago! Keep up the great work!!
